Precious Sheltie Dog And Baby Are Ridiculously Adorable Together

Pumpkin the Sheltie, like any good herding dog, is working hard to contain her little human. As she circles round the baby, play-bowing and tummy-creeping, her little charge lets her know just how happy he is to play with her!

If you agree that the laughter of a baby is the most adorable sound in the world, then you and Pumpkin are in total agreement. It only takes a bit of floor, a coffee table to run around and some joy to keep this due happy, healthy and well-exercised.

Shelties are known to have strong herding instincts. It's extremely interesting to note that this breed is also prone to barking. In fact, some Shelties seem to order their world by barking it into place. Pumpkin, however, is completely silent as she rounds the coffee table again and again, delighting the baby until the little one screams with laughter.

It's interesting to watch how Pumpkin reacts when the baby starts to crawl. She gives the baby space to get to a new area, changing her circling pattern to keep the baby contained. Then the baby takes a little tumble while crawling.

As the baby's cheek touches the floor, Pumpkin flattens out on her tummy, too. She is completely focused on the baby!

Of course, the baby is able to get back to a seated position. At this point, Pumpkin gets a little closer, perhaps making certain that the baby is perfectly fine. Once she's checked out the baby's movements, she gives baby a little stamp of approval, licking the baby on the face.

According to dogtime.com, Shelties are known for their herding power. They also need a fair bit of exercise and can get destructive if they're bored. This breed tunes in easily and well with humans, and can be trained as a service dog for those with medical challenges.

Pumpkin has it all in her tiny human. She loves him with a fierce focus. During their time together, she circles him to keep him contained, play bows to him to keep him happy and get him to move, and monitors his movements to make sure he's all good.
