They decided to ask a police officer to watch their belongings while they went to seek shelter. Instead of just watching their items the police officer offered them even more.
Captain McCormick, of the Boston Police Department, offered to drive them all the way from Boston to Portland, Maine. So the McCormick family got in the police officer's SUV and began their journey. They were in very high spirits, even joking that the officer was kidnapping them, and it was completely legal.
Kori spoke with the Bostom Globe about this extreme act of kindness. She talked about how her family was in shock at the act of kindness by the police officer.
The police officer simply said he couldn't allow the teenage girl to suffer in the cold 4 days after having brain surgery.
Captain McCormick also requested that the family remain in contact with him and that they keep him updated on the condition of Kori.
The Malenfant family got much more than just a ride home.
They made a new friend. Kori wanted to repay the police officer by sending a thank you letter, but she knew that she could never do anything kinder than what the police officer did for her. However, Kori did share her story on Facebook, ensuring that the entire world knew about the kindness shown by Captain McCormick of the Boston police.
It is nice to see an example of good police officers out there. Captain McCormick is just one of many noble men in blue. His story is evidence that the police officers in America are still kind, loving, and caring. Tell your friends and family about the actions of Captain McCormick.
