Playing Asleep—Stubborn Terrier Refuses To Go Home After Walk And Sprawls Across Pavement In Protest

Every dog loves going for a walk, but some love going for a walk more than others. And as you're about to see, this adorable little terrier named Fidget will do anything to avoid going back home after enjoying a long walk in the sunshine.

Fidget's owner, Sharon Harland, lives in Hinckley, Leicestershire in the UK, and recorded the video of Fidget pretending to be asleep just recently.

Drastic times call for drastic measures

If you're a dog owner yourself, you know how much they look forward to their daily walks. They get to walk around outside, greet the people that they pass by, spend some time in the sunshine and enjoy the fresh air before it's time to go back inside and retire for the evening.

But as you're about to see, some dogs enjoy walking so much that they don't want to go home. And this little terrier will do just about anything to keep her mom from taking her back to the house.

The video begins with a little bull terrier named Fidget sprawled out on the pavement. Her owner tugs on her leash and tries to urge her to get up, but she won't budge. She pulls back against the leash and refuses to get up, no matter how hard her mom tries to get her on her feet. It's clear that this is one determined little pooch!

It gets to the point that her mom starts pulling her against the pavement. She waddles back and forth but refuses to get on her feet. Finally, she sprawls out her legs and lies flat on the pavement like she's trying to play dead.

If you think that she's going to give up, you're clearly underestimating the power of Fidget. She lies on the pavement like a dead leaf with her legs sprawled out. Mom keeps pulling on the leash, but nope—this terrier isn't going anywhere.

Again, her owner tries to drag her along, and again Fidget refuses to leave the pavement. This pooch is not ready to go home after enjoying her brisk walk outside!

The battle continues, with Fidget refusing to get on her feet. When you look at the scenery around them, it's not hard to see why. It's a beautiful day: the sun is shining, the air looks fresh and it's clear that this little dog enjoyed her walk in their neighborhood. It's like taking a kid to the playground for the day. If you were Fidget, you probably wouldn't want to go home, either!

Fidget finally raises up on her front paws, but her back legs are still on the ground. This terrier is not going to end their walk without a fight. She stubbornly lies down again and refuses to move. Eventually, at the end of the video, Fidget realizes that she's fighting a losing battle. She jumps to her feet and starts walking again as if nothing happened. "What are you talking about, Mom? I was just resting here for a minute!"

Fidget happily walks alongside her owner with her tongue hanging out as they walk back to their house. It's a happy ending after all, and we're sure that Fidget can't wait to go on another walk tomorrow.
