Plane Passenger Asks If She Was Wrong For Blasting Woman Who Was ‘Screaming’ During Her Entire Flight

Flying can be challenging. You often feel rushed at the airport, and having to go through security can take longer than we’d like. Traveling by plane can become even more stressful when there is a rowdy passenger during the flight. It seems these days there are more and more stories of drama and difficult situations starting on planes. 

One woman took to the AITA Thread on Reddit and wondered if she was in the wrong for slamming another passenger two seats behind her who were screaming during the entire flight. 

“At the airport now. The lady 2 seats behind me on the flight was talked extremely loud the entire flight. I had earplugs in and it was piercing my ears,” the Original Poster (OP) shared. 

According to OP, as soon as the flight landed at the airport, the lady across her aisle looked “terrified” and said that the rowdy passengers were on the next flight. 

Irritated by the noise that the two passengers had caused during the flight. She got up from her seat, walked back, and approached the lady, who was accompanied by what seemed to be her boyfriend. 

“You guys are flying to Florida next right? You may want to consider being a little more quiet on your next flight. I had earplugs in and could hear you screaming the entire time,” she recalled telling them.

However, OP was shocked by the response that the couple gave back – appalled by the audacity that the two mustered despite the disturbance they had caused everyone. 

As soon as she said her piece, OP was turning around and walking back to her seat when she heard the boyfriend call her an “a**hole.” 

When she turned and asked back what he said, he cussed at her again, reiterating the expletive. The woman even chimed in and pointed out that they “weren’t even talking loud.”

Appalled, OP showed them her earplugs she got out of her ears and blasted the couple brutally. 

“I had earplugs in my ears 2 seats ahead of you, and I heard all about Franks wedding, your nail appointment, feeding your dogs, your cellphone bill, the tv shows your mom watches,” she exclaimed.

OP provided no update after her quick and merciless rant. However, the comments of the thread were unanimous in their response – OP was not in the wrong for doing such a thing. 

“If you could hear them from two seats back even without earplugs they're definitely talking way too loud. NTA,” a user wrote.

“NTA. If you heard details of a conversation from two rows away and earplugs in, they were way too loud. However, it probably would have been a good idea to get a flight attendant involved to try to get them to STFU,” another commented.

While many lauded OP for her heroic deed, some offered alternatives to avoid such confrontations. 

“NTA. I would be afraid to confront anyone these days, but hopefully, you saved some people in the future from the rudeness. Always travel with noise-canceling headphones especially if you are sensitive to loud people,” a user reminded.
