Pierce Brosnan might be the most charming man alive, but his two sons are great runners-up to that title. Not only did they inherit their dad's angelic good looks but also his humility, grace and wisdom, among many other traits.
Pierce is an Irish actor most known for his role as secret agent James Bond in four of the spy films, including "Golden Eye," "Tomorrow Never Dies," "The World Is Not Enough" and "Die Another Day." It was in the romance-musical "Mamma Mia!" that audiences were first introduced to a more playful side of the actor. He returned for the sequel "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again" in 2018.
Apart from being an actor, Pierce is also a family man. He wed his first wife, Cassandra Harris, to whom he was married for 11 years. She had two children with her deceased husband — Chris and Charlotte — whom Pierce adopted. The couple had their first child together, Sean, in 1983. Sadly, Harris passed away in 1991 after a four-year battle with ovarian cancer, and 22 years later, the couple's daughter Charlotte succumbed to the same fate.
In 1994, Pierce met Keely Shaye Smith, an American journalist, who went on to be his loving wife. The couple has two sons, Dylan and Paris Brosnan, and married in 2001 in Ireland.
Since then, their handsome sons have become subjects of media attention due to how blessed they are with the genetics of the dashing and talented actor – both things they inherited from their father, Pierce.
Paris, the youngest among the two, was dubbed by many as an exact replica of his dashing father. Read on to learn more about Paris and the surprising passion he shares with his famous dad.
Interestingly, many children of celebrities in Hollywood either follow in their parent's footsteps into the limelight or could not care less about the glamor and glitz stardom brings. Paris, the youngest of Pierce's two boys, is more laid back and is living the simple life of someone who has an A-list celebrity father.
"Growing up, I was always proud that he was my dad. I didn't want to hide it, but I wouldn't tell everyone," he told the Inquirer.
He also went on to reveal that his dad had strongly urged him and his brother against pursuing a career in acting and instead to look for other creative ways to express themselves through art.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, in 2019, Paris was studying at the School of Film and Television at Loyola Marymount University. But occasionally, he had moved back and forth from California to Hawaii, where their family home is based.
Aside from inheriting his show-stopping good looks from his father, Paris was also blessed with access to his father's incredible wardrobe.
"I steal clothes all the time. He does it so effortlessly. And he's very comfortable, he doesn't have to try at all. He'll see me wearing something and he'll be like, 'I used to have a jacket like that!' And I'll be like, 'Well, it looks better on me now,'" he cheekily revealed to People Magazine.
Their resemblance is uncanny. Many of Pierce's fans were surprised to see Paris in a striking image of his father at the Golden Globe Awards in 2020.

Besides his striking good looks, another thing Paris has inherited from his dad is his passion for the creative arts. Both Pierce and Paris have developed a talent for painting, pouring their heart and soul into creating stunning pieces of visual delight on the canvas.
Pierce has been painting for decades, and he has produced over 300 individual pieces, many of which have been displayed at prestigious galleries. In May 2023, he held his first solo art exhibition entitled “So Many Dreams” to showcase his incredible repertoire. Pierce’s pieces highlight a natural talent for composition, with adept use of bold linework and pops of color. The focus of his paintings runs the gamut of fantastic landscapes, stylized interiors and even famous figures, such as Anthony Bourdain and Bob Dylan.
“I have been painting since ’87 and it’s very therapeutic,” Pierce told Vanity Fair. “Painting has helped me find my way in life. Whenever I feel angst, I’ll go to the canvas. It brings me comfort and it’s just so joyful.”
Pierce also cited his beloved wife as being his top supporter who encouraged him to showcase his works to the public.
“I never thought about having my paintings going out into the world, but Keely documented it all and said, ‘Let’s try for a show.’ She has a strong hand in the work, in the celebration of the work and the love that she has for the work,” Pierce added.
The self-taught painter said he is drawn to painting for the simple satisfaction of creating. He said:
“I want to create things that make me happy. To make something that is magical and has its own story that has balance, and color and beauty. That’s it.”

Sequestered during the pandemic lockdown, Paris found himself drawn to painting in the family garage. Explaining his passion for art, Paris said:
“I’ve been painting at home all through quarantine and it’s proven to be a great release and outlet for self-expression. It’s nice because I don’t do it for anybody but myself. And if people like it, that’s just a bonus. Everything I paint just comes to mind on the spot. I pull inspiration from the greats, but don’t we all?
Paris revealed he, too, would like to follow in his dad’s footsteps and showcase his work to the public one day.
“I’m continuing to learn more and enjoy the process. I hope to do a gallery showing soon.”
Until Paris does hold an exhibition, fans can get a glimpse of his paintings on Instagram, where he often shares his latest creations. In a collaboration, his artwork was also featured on the hip Golden Goose Italian line of limited-edition clothing and accessories.
Pierce has also been incredibly supportive of his son, encouraging to nurture and harness his talent. In a post shared by Paris of a few of his artworks, Pierce took to the comments to say:
“Great work Paris, so good. Power on the wall.”
Paris isn’t the only one sharing his creations on social media. On July 24, 2023, Pierce shared a montage video of some of his finest work and captioned it, “Painting I have made…”
