Philip McKeon, Child Star From TV Show 'Alice,' Has Died At 55

The actor Philip McKeon has passed away in Texas on Tuesday, December 10 at the age of 55.

He was best-known for his role as Tommy Hyatt on the TV sitcom “Alice” from 1976-1985. He played the titular character’s son while she worked on her singing career, waitressing at a Phoenix diner on the side. The show was based on Martin Scorcese’s romantic comedy, “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.”

McKeon continued to act after his tenure on the show, appearing in “Fantasy Island,” “The Love Boat,” and “CHiPs,” among others. He changed over to a news career for ten years at the Los Angeles station KFWB News 98 then decided to move to Wimberly, Texas.
