Have you ever come across a video on social media or heard a song on the radio or television and then memories from the distant past suddenly came running back to you? Whether it is a happy memory or a sad one, there are simply songs that will make you feel things once you hear them. That’s the power of music. Sometimes, there are even songs that you seemed to have almost forgotten. But thanks to social media, these songs can now be easily found on the internet. Most of the time, these songs just appear even if you’re not looking for them.
One couple had people walking down memory lane after they caught the attention of many for their dance routine to a classic song by a popular American soul band.
French couple Sophie Allaf and Thomas Audon began dancing together in 2018. But their love for dancing started when they were young, which is why they appear effortless each time they hit the dance floor.
Allaf, for one, learned ballet when she turned 5 years old. Audon, on the other hand, learned ballroom dancing at the age of 7 – an impressive feat for such a young age. Not to mention he already knew how to do acrobatic rock ‘n roll, too.
As if the talent they showcase through their dance videos isn’t enough to convince everyone just how talented they are, they were actually hailed champions in boogie-woogie not once or twice, but four times. But even though the two have been named world champions twice, they still remain humble.
Apart from joining various international competitions, they also put their talent to even greater use by sharing and imparting their knowledge and skills through teaching.

To reach an even wider audience, they set up a YouTube channel. Now, they not only get to show off their moves, but they also give others the chance to dance effortlessly in the comfort of their own home. Plus, it’s free for all.
In June 2021, they captured the hearts of many when they did a dance cover of a 1962 classic by The Contours, to a song called "Do You Love Me." Having appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart twice, it’s no wonder why so many people are familiar with the song. At the time of its release, it sold 1 million copies – a huge accomplishment for artists during those times. Then in 1988, the song became a hit once again.
Allaf and Audon, who recorded their dance routine in their living room, had people reminiscing about their memories with the song.
As of writing, the video has already amassed 4.7 million views on the platform.
Most of the people who commented on the video said they had so much fun watching it and they couldn’t stop smiling while watching the couple dance.
“I'm 76 and this was one of my favorite songs when it came out. SO glad this couple worked out a routine for dancing it. It's so simple us SENIORS could learn to do it in my Senior apartment exercise class. It would also be so much FUN. Thanks guys, you brightened my day. That guy moves SO SMOOTH! I love it,” one person commented.
“This 70-year-old lady woke up during the middle of the night with a headache and unable to sleep and now I find I am smiling ear to ear. You both have great moves- I love this. Thank you!” another person said.
