Pentatonix is an American acappella group that has been grabbing the hearts of people all around the world since 2011.
That is when they won NBC’s The Sing-Off in the 3rd season of the show. The group was given $200,000 in prize money for their amazing efforts.
But more importantly, they were given a record deal with none other than Sony Music. They have even outlasted the actual show they were discovered on, as it was canceled back in 2014.
Simon & Garfunkel first recorded the classic 60s hit, “The Sound of Silence.” Since then, many bands have tried to re-record the song, including Pentatonix. The group is composed of five singers who managed to surprise and delight their fans once again with their beautiful and haunting harmonies.
It is a tricky song to perform, but they showed that they knew just what they were doing.
