Across the country, the show "Wheel of Fortune" has and will always be tied to the name Pat Sajak. The famed television show has catapulted Pat into a nationwide sensation. He has established himself as one of the greatest television show hosts of recent memory. He joined the show in 1981, taking over the hosting duties from Chuck Woolery.

Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, Pat attended Farragut High School and Columbia College Chicago. Before embarking on a career in television, Pat served in the army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Saigon, Vietnam. Unbeknownst to many, he worked as a DJ on the Armed Forces Radio. Eventually, Pat returned to California to pursue his career.

It was an uphill climb since then, from working as a radio announcer to becoming a weatherman; Pat eventually landed "Wheel of Fortune," which became his job for more than five decades.

Supporting him along the way was his supportive family. He has been married to photographer and model Lesly Brown Sajak since 1989. They have two children, Patrick, 32, and Maggie, 28. Patrick has remained a private person while Maggie followed her father's footsteps in the entertainment industry.

Maggie has also appeared on "Wheel of Fortune" several times already, even serving as a special letter toucher and a social media correspondent on the show. Maggie and Pat became very close, especially because they are in the same entertainment industry, and the two have been vocal about their respect and adoration for each other. Like her father, Maggie is also as magnetic and charismatic as the famed host.

Keep on reading to learn more about Maggie, her relationship with her father, and what she is up to, especially now that her father has retired from hosting "Wheel of Fortune."

Born on January 1995, Maggie is the youngest of the Sajak household. She went on to become a singer-songwriter at a tender young age as she started playing the guitar at 12 years old and writing her own songs. Maggie's style of music and genre was described to be a fusion of pop, country, and occasional rock.

She released her debut single, "First Kiss," which received acclaim from many, lauding her for her vocals and songwriting technique.

"It's always been a dream of mine to be a singer," she told Teen Vogue in a 2013 interview. "When I started playing guitar and performing more often, my passion for music became a top priority. With each new song I record and music video I release, I see my dreams becoming a reality."

Like her father, Maggie is a determined person. Per her Instagram post, the youngest Sajak child is already a Juris Doctor. She graduated from Princeton University and took on a postgraduate program at Columbia University.

She was also involved in multiple philanthropic endeavors, like supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the United Services Organizations, which is close to her heart, considering that her father served in the army. In another interview in 2013, Maggie told The Daily Front Row that she also keeps her medical education at bay.

Notably, Maggie earned her Pre-Medicine Bachelor's Degree at Princeton. "I'm not sure what my major is yet, but I am doing a bit of pre-med because I want to lay the groundwork, in case I ever want to go to medical school," she said at the time.

Maggie holds a very dear relationship with her father, whom she admires and respects so much. On many occasions, Maggie, an occasional social media native, posts photos of her parents as throwbacksFather's Day tributes, and even on birthday greetings.

"Kindergarten father-daughter dance…I can't believe he was still in kindergarten at that age!" Maggie said in the caption of a throwback photo, which she revealed that her father personally wrote in honor of Father's Day.

Like many people, Maggie was also grateful for her father's service when Pat announced his retirement from the show after four decades of hosting it.

"It's so much fun working with my dad...and we're looking forward to even more fun in Season 41💙," she said in an Instagram post.

Unbeknownst to many, Maggie and Pat have worked together in "Wheel of Fortune" for quite some episodes. The first one was when she filled in for Vanna White as a special letter toucher when the famed hostess replaced Sajak temporarily when he underwent emergency surgery in 2020.

On May 2023, Maggie was back on the board when she filled in for White again, who then played as a contestant for "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune: Ultimate Host Night" alongside "Jeopardy!" hosts Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik

Pat emotionally introduced Maggie during that episode, sentimental about the fact that her daughter is hosting alongside him.

"I think I'm going to cry," Pat shared, prompting her daughter to respond: Me, too! I'm so happy, and I have some iconic high heels to fill… I hope to make Vanna proud."

Although Pat is retiring, he is not saying goodbye to it entirely. Sony Pictures Television said in a statement that he has agreed to continue as a consultant on the show for three years after his retirement.
