P!nk Had To Stop Singing After Fan Tossed Their Mom's Ashes To Her On Stage

Although it's been nearly two decades since P!nk's debut single hit the Billboard Hot 100, the 43-year-old pop star is still shaking things up in the entertainment industry. The singer, who has brought us hits such as "Get the Party Started" and "There You Go," was born on Sept. 8, 1979, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

P!nk began her music career in a girl band. When that didn't work out, she went solo in 1999 at the age of 20 and has never looked back. According to Billboard, she has 15 top 10 hits and is one of the bestselling American music artists to date. 

Apart from her music, P!nk is known for being authentic and true to herself. Her lyrics often speak about being real. Not only does this theme appear in her music, but it seems to carry over into her personal life as well. She’s often very candid about her struggles and experiences, and she often expresses her desire to be seen as a real person, not just a celebrity. 

As she blossomed to become one of pop music’s earliest trailblazers, P!nk also had a fair share of obstacles to overcome. After welcoming two children, she struggled to juggle motherhood and her career, particularly while on tour. She also faced some tumultuous times in her marriage. However, the star has managed to find a balance between her kids and her job, while she has cited marriage counseling as a key factor in ironing out problems between her and her husband.

P!nk was also the second most-played female solo artist in the United Kingdom during the 2000s, behind only one artist — Madonna. Fittingly, P!nk has named Madonna, along with Janis Joplin, as a major inspiration for her in her professional career. 

As for her personal life, the singer is very vocal and open about her relationship in interviews and on her social media. She has been married to Carey Hart since 2006, and she often speaks about the successes and failures in their relationship. On June 2020, P!nk posted a video on Instagram revealing that she and Hart have a therapist, Vanessa, who has helped them multiple times since they split up and reconciled before eventually marrying in 2006. 

"It's the only reason that we're still together because you know, I think partners after a long time, we just speak. I can't say it's a man and woman thing, I think it's a partner thing, a spouse thing – that you just speak two different languages,” she admitted on Instagram.

The rocker credited Vanessa for their marriage, which is now mightier than ever. 

"I mean we would not be together. We just wouldn't because we are not taught as kids how to have relationships, how to get along with people,” she added.

P!nk has also worked tirelessly to manage her responsibilities as a mother. After asking her “sleep trainers” to devise a sleep schedule for her daughter as she accompanied her on tour, P!nk revealed other “mom popstars” reached out to her to ask for pointers on how to juggle a career and kids. 

However, one thing she may not have had any real training on is dealing with strange and unexpected things fervent fans throw to her onstage. While flowers and stuffed toys may be the norm, P!nk was left in a tizzy when one fan threw her something she had not bargained for – her mother’s ashes. 

The puzzling incident was captured on film and showed P!nk on stage in London for her Summer Carnival Tour on June 25, 2023. She then abruptly stopped singing midway into her performance of “Just Like A Pill” to bend down and pick up a clear plastic bag. She then asked a fan in the crowd, “This is your mom?” In her bewilderment, P!nk carried the bag close to the speakers at the front of the stage while saying, “I don’t know how I feel about this!” She then placed the bag down by the speakers with a perplexed look still on her face. Ever the professional, P!nk quickly carried on with her performance.

The video, which was captioned, “Someone gave their Mothers ashes to Pink. I need yall to have boundaries like girl what?! 😭😂” has since racked up hundreds of thousands of views, leaving more folks equally baffled by the turn of events. The feeling was summed up in one comment that read:

“It was the complete look of shock/confusion on P!nk’s face for me. 😂🤣 She handled that well because that was really strange.”
