Jodie Boo is a vlogger in London who filmed her husky talking to the iPhone's Siri and posted the hilarious result on her youtube channel.

Small devices such as the common smartphone can make your life more convenient and efficient. Siri, a voice assistant developed by Apple, allows people to speak voice queries with natural language comprehension. The system software is able to answer all types of questions and respond in a conversational manner to spoken words.

For example, you could ask Siri a question about the weather in a specific place in the world, and it will provide a prompt accurate response. Sometimes these devices can display capabilities that we never expected. One such case was an interaction between Siri and a dog.

With the prevalence of video content on the internet and the ease of creating them with common smartphones, it's possible to see just about anything you could imagine by searching for it online. People who know about dog breeds are aware that huskies are not only beautiful, but they also like to communicate vocally in a way that is almost human.

There are actually many videos of huskies online that sound almost human. You can find examples of dogs that seem to say phrases such as "I love you" and "mum". The video of this particular husky features him seated alongside a smartphone on a tripod. The video provides captions that attempt to interpret what the dog's sounds would mean in English. His first utterances sound a little bit like "Hello mum."

When the dog makes vocal sounds, the phone sometimes responds. On several occasions, it asks for clarification because Siri is not quite capable of translating dog sounds into English. The dog then responds to the vocal responses of the Siri app, and a full-fledged conversation ensues for several minutes. The owner of the dog laughs when the device responds to the dog as if it had said words like "no" or "hello". The woman rewards the dog repeatedly with dog biscuits when he succeeds in confusing Siri.

Siri seems eager to make sense of the conversation, and it keeps prompting the dog to clarify his questions. When the phone does not respond, the dog seems determined to make it say something because he knows he is being rewarded with treats when he does.

Huskies don't really speak and understand language the way that humans do, but sometimes they try to communicate with their own unique sounds. This recent video shows how a dog and a device can have some interesting exchanges as they both try to interpret each other's words. The conversation between a husky and Siri is online for any dog lover who wants to watch an amusing exchange.

Perhaps phone apps are not able to have meaningful conversations with dogs today, but who knows what the future might bring? Artificial intelligence could soon unlock a greater understanding of the verbal sounds that dogs make in an attempt to converse with humans and with each other.
