Anybody who has ever observed orangutans will agree that they are remarkably similar to humans. From their upright walking stance to their intelligence to their connection to family, it is obvious that orangutans and humans are indeed closely related.
This resemblance was perfectly exemplified in an amazing video of an orangutan giving birth. The Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust was able to capture this moment and show us all how similar humans and orangutans are in their mothering instincts.
After the mother safely delivers the baby herself, she immediately begins to love on the sweet new orangutan.

Although the video is a little graphic, it is still worth checking out. The conservation center said that the mother was able to birth the baby herself without any aid. Once she recognized the signs of labor, she crawled into her nest and let the process happen naturally.
After the baby comes out, the mother takes the time to immediately clean it up. Just like humans, the orangutan is extremely focused on caring for her newborn from the minute that it enters the world.
And then after nature has taken its course, the new mother brings her bundle of joy over to show off to the humans. Watch it here:
This miraculous birth video is both fascination and awe-inspiring. After you have the chance to see the miracle of life up close and personal, be sure to spread this video to everyone that you know. The sweet bond between the mother and her baby is something special that everyone should see.
