Nicholas Scott Cannon, more commonly known as Nick Cannon has been a staple on American television for quite a while already. Born in San Diego, California, Cannon is an American actor, comedian, rapper and television personality.

Starting his career as a teenager, Cannon gained prominence as a rapper as he released his self-titled debut album in 2003. After a while, he transitioned from being a rapper to television hosting and also tried acting for a while. He became well known for hosting "America's Got Talent" from 2009 to 2016. Starting in 2016, he also became the main host of “The Masked Singer.” He has been featured in films like "Drumline," “King of the Dancehall,” “School Dance,” "Love Don't Cost a Thing" and "Wild 'N Out, among many others.

But aside from his great hosting skills, wit, rapping skills and charisma in television, Cannon is also known for having a lot of kids in the entertainment industry. To date, he has 12 different children from 6 different mothers.

Cannon opened up multiple times about the struggles of being a father to multiple children from multiple families. Among those is telling his children about their other siblings. Speaking to “The Language of Love” with Dr. Laura Berman, Cannon became candid on his thoughts about having his children meet their other siblings. In the conversation, Cannon was honest about his words, especially respecting the boundaries of the mothers of the kids.

Cannon is the father of 12 children from six different women. He has two kids with singer Mariah Carey – twins Moroccan and Monroe. He also has sons with model Brittany Bell — Golden and Rise, as well as a daughter named Powerful Queen.

He also has another set of twins with DJ Abby De La Rosa named Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, as well as a third child together. Cannon also fathered Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi and Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole. In 2021, Cannon suffered heartbreak when his 5-month-old son Zen with Alyssa Scott died of brain cancer. They welcomed another child in December 2022, Halo Marie, Cannon’s youngest to date.

In an honest conversation with Berman on her Apple Podcast “The Language of Love,” Cannon was asked if in his “dream world” would he want all of his children to go on trips and outings together. Cannon answered a very straightforward “yes.”

"They're all Cannons. They'll probably go to the same schools and all that,” he added.

However, despite wanting to do so, Cannon is limited as it may be a wish of his, but he “got to respect that's not a wish of everyone's."

But Cannon is not losing hope. He told Berman that when his older children eventually age, they would be able to make their own decisions about their life.

"Because they're currently under their mothers' jurisdiction, I'm trying to play by the moms' rules. But once they can make their own decisions, I would hope and pray that we'll have established a strong enough relationship that they'll want to come hang out with me,” he continued.

Cannon confirmed on the podcast that he has established a “very open” line of communication with his oldest children, Carey’s 12-year-old twins Monroe and Morrocan.

The rapper-host also revealed that he believes his son, 6-year-old son Golden AKA "Sagon" is ready to be filled in with the story of their complicated family tree.

"I think right now is the time to start having, and this has been a family debate, about when to have the full and honest discussion with the six-year-old because he's a genius," Cannon admitted.

The father of 12 said that he believes his child has “already figured it out” as to having other siblings other than Powerful Queen and Rise Messiah.

"He knows about his older siblings. He's been around the younger ones. He's been around them, just nobody talks about it. It's not like, 'This is your brother or your sister,'” he added.

Cannon also suggested that because of the school Sagon was in and the internet, he definitely would have known that his father is known for having a lot of kids. The 42-year-old father thinks that “it's not going to be a difficult conversation” for his son.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Berman asked Cannon what he will say to his children when the time comes to explain the predicament.

"You know daddy already has a lot of kids. And you're special, I appreciate our bond, but I also have other relationships that have produced other children that I love dearly as well,” he eloquently said. "And I'd ask him how he feels about it.”

Cannon emphasized that it’s important for him to find “something” that is uniquely theirs. Although he believes that there are going to be some unshared feelings, he welcomes that and would gladly deal with them only when brought up.
