Adoption is a truly beautiful thing to witness. Heather Crockett Oram of Utah proves that families come in all shapes and sizes. And in the end, it does not matter how you got there. The only thing that matters is that you are family.
When Heather was six weeks old, her ovaries were removed because of a physical deformity. Heather was 13 when she found out that she would never bear her own biological children. She carried that secret for years, dreading the day that she would have to tell her future husband.
She met Jason and the two fell in love. Heather felt comfortable telling her story to this man, who happened to be a single dad to two boys of his own. Jason reacted with kindness and love, telling Heather that it did not matter how their children came to them.

Last June, the two decided that they were ready to start the adoption process. Rather than going through a costly agency, they decided to spearhead the process themselves. A Facebook ad hooked them up with a woman in Missouri looking to put her unborn baby up for adoption.
Heather felt immediately connected but Jason was skeptical because they had no proof that the woman was even pregnant.
Jason eventually convinced Heather to renew the profile on adoption.com. Shortly after, they got a message from an expectant mother. The three met up in a diner and by the end of the meeting, the woman had asked the Oram's to be her son's forever family.
Three weeks later, sweet little Andy was born. Heather was the first person to hold him and kiss his little hands. As the couple adjusted to the new baby in the home, Heather continued to talk to the woman in Missouri.
A few months later, the woman called Heather and said that she changed her mind about the family she had intended to let adopt her baby.
Six weeks after this conversation, Heather and Jason flew to Missouri and attended the birth of Ellis. They knew right away that this baby was also supposed to be part of their growing family.
The Oram's now had two newborns born just a few months apart. These sweet pictures will touch any heart. Be sure to spread this story of adoption joy to everyone that you know, let´s raise some awareness around this tough topic and let's spread the love this family is giving all of us.
