Multi-Millionaire Cried When He Got His Own Room After Being Homeless & Sleeping Under A Bridge At 17

Harry Sanders is the founder and director of Studiohawk, an SEO marketing agency in Australia and the UK. Sanders fell in love with SEO when he was just a teen after watching his dad's business run to the ground because of a contract with an incompetent SEO agency.

The 13-year-old Sanders decided to learn SEO to help his dad. Through trial and error, he succeeded in getting the hang of it. After a while, his dad's business began to pick up again. Not only that, people who had heard of his skills wanted him to do their SEO for them, so the teenager found himself in business.

"I was basically part-time at school, part-time at work, and even working on my laptop whenever I got the chance at school," he said. "I was obsessed with SEO."

Eventually, this affected his performance as he only managed to score 30% on his school attendance by the time he was 16. However, Sanders didn't mind because he was already heading a company's SEO division and planned to start his own business. The adolescent left school in 2015 and started his business which he sunk all the money he had into.

He bought and registered a website for his company, StudioHawk, but the business flopped, taking all his money.

"I’d spent most of my money on computer parts and sunk the rest into the business before it all went belly up," he recollected.

In hindsight, Sanders realized he had no experience and lacked the financial capacity to run a business. At 17, he was homeless but turned his life around just eight years after. In an interview on July 12, 2023, he told The Project that he slept under the bridge before getting his room. Keep reading for details.

Sanders' parents separated when he was 17, and he left home with only his laptop to stay under a bridge.

At 25, Sanders runs a multi-million tech company with over 50 employees. According to his company’s website, he has worked with over 300 clients, including Semrush, Mecca, and Clark Rubber. The agency has won several awards and has four offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and London.

Sanders is the youngest AWIA (Australian Web Industry Association) board member and has received several awards and recognitions.

In his interview with The Project posted on YouTube on July 12, 2023, Sanders reflected on the days he slept under the bridge. He revealed

"You wake up every morning tired and groggy. Not really wanting to get up and do anything."

Sanders tried to get government housing but could only get accommodation with heroin addicts. He decided to start all over. He would charge his laptop and phone and use the wifi at his local St Vincent de Paul during the day. He also asked clients to let him work for free, urging them to pay him after seeing results. Eventually, his hard work paid off. Today Studiohawk is worth $4 million.

With his newfound success, Sanders moved into a shared house. He recalled when he cried:

"Oh my God, I have a room, I can close the door, and this is my room."

Today, Sanders owns property in London and is building his dream house in Melbourne. He also volunteers for the LightHouse Foundation, which features prominently on his Instagram account. Despite his success, Sanders wants to be remembered as one who motivated others. He said:

"No one cares about your bank balance. I want a bunch of people to say that this guy helped change my life."
