Mom Thinks She’s Texting Her Military Husband While He’s Overseas But He Walks Right Into The Hospital Room

Home is probably the one thing that deployed servicemen and women miss the most. It has comfort and safety they don't experience when they're deployed. This can be especially hard on parents who miss out on all those "firsts." They aren't there for the first steps, the first word and, for all those fathers out there, the birth itself.
Skyler Cooper was one such military dad. According to CBS, he was deployed with the Kansas Army National Guard in Kuwait for a year. He left behind his wife, Cydney Cooper, and their sons, Leighton, 3, and Corbett Cooper, 1.
When Skyler left, Cydney was already pregnant with twins. After falling ill with the flu, she was forced to deliver the babies prematurely at 33 weeks on Jan. 24, 2019, while Skyler was still in Kuwait. Despite this, Cydney gave birth to their twins, Emma and Kyla Cooper, safely, although they had to spend their first few days at the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
There’s no doubt having your children in the NICU is an extremely stressful experience for a mother, more so a mom whose partner was not around to support her. For the first few days, Cydney did all she could to weather the experience. Once she was discharged from the hospital, she continued to visit her twins at the NICU without fail.
One day, Cydney was at the hospital’s NICU visiting her baby daughters when she received an unexpected surprise. Just moments after texting her husband, Skyler walked into the room from behind where Cydney was sitting. Clutching a handful of balloons and flowers, he made his way next to her and a family member was there to capture the tear-jerking moment.

In the video filmed 12 days after the twins were born, Skyler could be seen quietly moving forward to Cydney’s side as she cradled one of the twins in her arm. Sensing a presence next to her, she looked up to see her husband’s face, and her reaction said it all. Unable to say a single word, Cydney could only hide her face in her hand and burst into tears. As she continued to cry, Skyler got down on his knees and put his arms around her and their new bundle of joy.
Cydney later told Good Morning America that she was both shocked and relieved.
“I was in shock. I felt like I had to almost take a breath again. I had been bouncing around so much between our boys and the girls, I was also relieved,” she said.
She added it was also “an incredible moment to see him meet his daughters for the first time.”
Cydney later shared the heartrending video on Facebook, where it has since racked up more than 10 million views and touched the hearts of men and women, particularly members of military families, across the world. One comment read:
“I felt this mamas relief on her face knowing her person was there for her at the most difficult time in her life. Just knowing she wasn’t alone anymore and having daddy there was what mommy needed to feel better.”
Another user wrote, “I cried right along with her,” while a third comment read, “Thank you to the spouses who support our service persons and go it alone.”

How beautiful was the reunion captured on video? Did it bring a tear to your eyes as well? If so, then be sure to pass this on to all the great men and women in the service, as well as those that support them, as well.
