Mom Refused To Sit Beside Her Children After A Passenger Initially Didn’t Want To Give Up Her Seat During Flight

Aug 08, 2023 by apost team

There have been several conversations around the internet in 2023 about giving up your seats in an airplane in order for a family to be seated together, and a user named @cindyarenacomedy on Instagram and TikTok had the best response as she shared her own experience.

The content creator began her video with a green screen background of a news article from Today wherein TikTok user, @myconquering, sparked a debate on social media after she refused to trade seats with a woman whose kids were seated beside her.

In the video @myconquering shared on the platform, she explained that one of the main reasons she refused to switch her window seat was she needed some sleep and the kids next to her were about 11 and 15 years old, and their mother was behind them.

Back to Cindy Arena’s clip, which was posted in July 2023. The comedian said she loved that people were asking if a person needed to move to a different seat when their children were sitting next to them.

For her, it’s a big no-no, and she told parents to let that person stay with their kids. She added it also happened to her in the past.

Arena then proceeded to recall the story that happened to her during a flight back in the day. She told her followers that the woman sitting next to her kids, who were 4 and 6 years old at the time, refused to give up her seat.

The comedian didn’t fight or argue with the woman, so she accepted the situation and went to the back of the plane and sat in her assigned seat.

Although Arena wasn’t with her children at the time, she considered the experience “peaceful.”

A few moments later, the content creator said the stewardess came up to her, and she knew exactly what she was going to say.

“The stewardess comes up, because I know she’s coming because this b**** is sitting next to my kids, and there’s nothing fun about that,” she explained.

The flight attendant then approached and told her that the woman wanted to trade seats after her time with the kids, but Arena savagely responded with, “oh no, no. We need to stay in our seats. Have a good flight.”

After the comedian shared the video, online users expressed their personal opinion about the matter, especially about booking seats with children for a flight.

“You definitely are responsible for booking your seats together, that is not the other persons problem,” one wrote.

“What kind of parent books seats that arent with their kids? This one,” another one wrote, pertaining to Arena.

Another mom chimed in and shared her thoughts about flying somewhere with her children: “As a mom of 2 kids, I pay to make sure we sit together. Lack of planning does not excuse this.”

Another user was surprised about why it was not a requirement for any airline company that parents have to “book seats next to their children (under ages 10/12?).”

One commenter on Instagram didn’t find Arena’s video funny as they wrote: “This isn't even funny. IF and I stress IF this is really true, you should have planned better to accommodate you and your kids. The level of entitlement to think that someone else should give up their seat because you can't plan is sickening.”
