Mom Of 2 Rents Out Her Womb For $40K To Because She Finds Pregnancy ‘Beautiful’

A mom-of-two from Atlanta has found immense joy in being pregnant and has now taken her love for pregnancy to a whole new level by renting out her womb for $40,000. Yessenia Latorre, 26, decided to be a surrogate mother as she wanted to help hopeful couples struggling to conceive.
Latorre's journey as a surrogate has gained popularity online as she shared her experiences and advice with her growing social media followers. She has become a resource for hundreds of women seeking guidance on how to become surrogates themselves, and over 100 families have reached out to her in the hopes of starting a family with her help.
Despite the hefty fee, Latorre emphasized that most surrogates are not motivated solely by money. For her, the financial aspect is simply the bonus for helping a family.
In a video on YouTube uploaded on April 2023, Latorre explained that she lost a baby from an unexpected pregnancy when her first-born son, Tyson, born in 2017, was about a year old. She was eight weeks along when the doctors told her that something was not right with her ultrasound. The miscarriage sent her into depression, and she lost a lot of weight. No one understood what she was going through.
However, soon after that loss, Latorre and her husband were blessed with a rainbow baby, Trey Jr., who was born in 2019. Summing up the whole experience of baby loss and hope made Latorre grateful that she realized she could be able to help other women or families in a similar situation.
"I thought about all of the women who have had infertility problems and miscarriages," Latorre wrote in an essay on Newsweek while awaiting the birth of her first surrogate baby in February 2023. "I felt grateful to be a mother, and I wanted other women to feel that way, too."
To become a surrogate, Latorre signed up with a surrogacy agency that matched her with families that aligned with her preferences. The surrogacy process involved a series of evaluations, including a psychological evaluation, medical screening, ultrasounds, blood tests, and a month of medication before the embryo transfer. She was matched with three families and chose a couple from Florida, where the wife has age-related complications.
"We see the money as being a bonus to changing a family's life in a priceless way,” Latorre told The Sun. "I wish more people would see surrogacy as a beautiful thing because that's what it truly is."
Latorre also talked to her husband about becoming a surrogate mother, and he was supportive of her choice. She explained to her young children that the baby in her womb was not their family.
"They know that I am helping another family and they have met the parents of the child, which has helped them come to terms with the fact that it is not my child or their sibling," she wrote in the essay.
After the birth of her healthy surrogate child, Latorre revealed that she didn't find it difficult to let go. The baby's real mom regularly sends photos to her; thus, she feels fulfilled about her decision.
"I was so happy to have done this for them," Latorre said. "I was very happy to have time with the baby and the family, and that was perfect for me."
