Mom Claps Back At People Who Judge Her For Having 9 Kids In 12 Years

It’s not uncommon for people to hope for a strong family unit. For some people, this could mean being married and welcoming a child or several children that they will care for for the rest of their lives. For others, this could come with some challenges and heartbreak that may lead to a more blended family unit.

Kora Duke is a 39-year-old from Nevada that had nine children by the time she turned 28 years old. Having a lot of kids can be hard as is, but having them all pretty much one right after the other could create a pretty stressful household.

Unfortunately, having her large family over the course of 12 years came with judgments from others. Many people assumed that because Duke had so many children so young that she must have been careless with her actions. However, Duke explained that she and her husband, Andre, just so happened to have a big family together.

"It really was just the way it happened," Duke told TODAY. "The majority (of my pregnancies) were not intentional at all. Traditional birth control methods didn't work." Talking about being pregnant with one child after the other for 12 years, the mom added, "I only knew myself as being pregnant. I didn't even remember the parts when I wasn't."

Duke and Andre met when Duke was a sophomore in high school, and Andre was a senior. They have been married for over 20 years. Unfortunately, some people online have cast judgment on Duke and asked her how many different men fathered her children.

Fortunately, the mom has taken all of the negative attitude thrown her way in stride and has continued to share her beautiful family life.

Duke and Andre are parents to: Elijah, 21; Sheena, 20; Zhaan, 17; Cairo, 16; Saiyah, 14; Avi, 13; Romani, 12; and Tahj, 10. They also had a baby named Yuna, who sadly died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) at 7 days old.

"I'll always say I'm a mom of nine," Duke shared.

In a TikTok from 2022, Duke showed how she was pregnant for the better part of a 12-year span. She first became pregnant in 2000 when she was just 17 years old. She welcomed her first child in 2001 and welcomed her last child in 2012.

Duke posted another TikTok with the text layover, “If I had a dollar for every time someone didn’t believe I gave birth to 9 kids.” In the caption, she wrote, “I’d be rolling in all the money!”

Despite being with the same man since she was a teenager, Duke has received several negative comments from people online about her family. Duke posted a TikTok with the caption, “This is a very popular question.”

In the video, the text layover read, “How many baby daddies for your 9 kids?” To answer, Duke’s husband Andre danced across the screen. In the comments, Duke also wrote, “People Nosey!!”

Many people chimed in in the comment section to commend Duke for standing up to the haters. “Now why are they assuming,” one person wrote. Another person joked and said, “You should have had him run by the camera in the same outfit 9x 😂.”

Nowadays, Duke is keeping up with the “mad dash” that comes with raising so many kids under one roof. She has also undergone tubal ligation so she can “prioritize” herself.
