Mom Captures The Sweet Reunion Of Her Little Boy And His Missing Dog

When their dog, Kase, went missing, Paula Williams wasn't sure how she was going to break the news to her young son Kahne, who loved Kase dearly. He would be heartbroken -- especially since things weren't looking good.

When Paula did tell Kahne, he was devastated. However he maintained hope that they would find him. Even after the search lasted days, then weeks, then months, Kahne maintained positivity, sure that he would see his friend again.

Paula explained to TODAY that the morning he went missing started off like any other. She let him out the back to let him go to the bathroom. Once outside he was gone in a flash.

When he didn't return, Kahne began to cry, so Paula took him around the area looking for the pup. Despite their efforts, Kase was nowhere to be found. Paula and Kahne did everything they could think of: calling neighbors, ringing doorbells, and putting up signs. Despite everything, they couldn't find Kase.

Weeks later, Paula was in her car when she saw two girls get off a school bus. To her surprise, she saw Kase run up and greet them. Paula immediately pulled in and told their family "That's my son's dog."

Paula then learned from the family that Kase had come to their house, so they fed and housed him. As Paula pointed out, who knows what may have happened if they didn't take him in.

Paula took Kase and rushed home. Once there, she had Kahne come out to the car for a big surprise. As soon as Kahne saw Kase, tears were streaming. He didn't know how his mom found him -- he was just glad that she did.

Paula explained that Kase is really Kahne's puppy, and has been since they first met. While Kahne grew up around pets, he developed the strongest relationship with Kase. After all, Kahne was the one who picked Kase from his litter. From then on, Kase was "his puppy."

It's hard not to cry when you see the moment that Paula, Kahne, and Kase became a whole family once again, especially because Kahne finally has his friend back and that's all they could ask for.
