Missing Boy Found Wandering St. Louis Streets — Protective Stray Pit Bull Stays By His Side

It was a routine morning for one woman who was out walking her two little pooches as she had done many times before. However, that ordinary morning would turn out to be anything but.

In this recent story from October 2020, a St. Louis toddler named Kh’amorion was found by a local neighbor who wishes to remain anonymous, however, he wasn't alone—there was a pitbull by his side acting as a guard dog protecting the young child. After a search, the two-year-old boy was safely returned home, but the story highlights a positive side to pit bulls and a strong community spirit.

According to Inquirer.net, while holding two leashes, the neighbor spotted something unusual: a little boy in his pajamas and no shoes being accompanied by a pit bull. The boy was too young to be out walking on his own, so she knew that something was wrong.

She approached the boy and picked him up. Then she began pounding the pavement in search of his parents. Going above and beyond, this determined neighbor went from door to door for several hours talking with neighbors to find out whose child this was. To her disappointment, no one knew.

While she was busy outside, something miraculous was happening inside. The story of the woman's efforts had already begun to go viral. Thankfully, one important man in this story was using social media when he saw a story about his two-year-old Kh’amorion. That man was the boy's father. During this time, the police had also been called, and a television reporter had reached the scene.

The story continues with a relieved and grateful father whose son was guarded by angels on earth, both human and animal. When the child was discovered, he was not alone. As it turns out, the pit bull was at this child's side protecting him like a loyal guard dog. Yet, they were strangers. That pit bull defies the stereotypical image of his breed as being aggressive and dangerous. While pit bulls can be aggressive, this one showed its kinder, gentler side. It protected a two-year-old until he was reunited with his family.

This story has a happy ending but could have gone in another direction. With so many children being kidnapped, the dog and the neighbor were miraculously in place to prevent that from happening. The neighbor believes in a strong sense of community and that all neighbors should help one another. She was a perfect example of her own belief system: Pitch in and help where you can.
