Minka Kelly Is Carbon Copy Of Raquel Welch Six Decades Ago

If you grew up between the 60s and 70s, chances are you know who Raquel Welch is. Fewer people know who Minka Kelly is, but more people should; because she is the modern lookalike of the 80-year-old Hollywood icon. Read till the end to see what we're talking about.

Raquel Welch's looks have forgotten to turn 80 with her this year. A Hollywood icon, Newsner describes her as "one of the world’s greatest beauties ever." Even in her eighth decade, Welch appears uncanny to her days as "Loana," as seen in the picture above, and remains a sex symbol until today.

Best known for starring in films such as One Million Years B.C., The Three Musketeers, and Bedazzled, Welch was born in Chicago on September 5, 1940, as Jo Raquel Tejada, according to her IMDb page. Her father was a Bolivian-born engineer and her American mother of English descent.

As per Biography, she had taken dance lessons as a child and was a cheerleader in high school, while also performing in school musicals. This gave her the discipline to make the most of her natural attractiveness moving forward as she won top prizes at California beauty pageants. She won the title of Miss Fairest of the Fair in 1957 and graduated from La Jolla High School in 1958.

And she is not just a pretty face – Biography adds that her IQ was once measured at a whopping 140. Talk about beauty with brains!

Unlike some celebrities, Welch isn't selfish when it comes to sharing her beauty "secret". According to Woman's World, Welch's holy grail product is udder cream.

She said, “[Udder cream is] something you can put on overnight and when you wake up you don’t have a dry, cracking mouth. Believe me, there are a lot of mummies walking around with (one brand of udder cream).” We're gonna go buy ourselves some udder cream now, BRB.

Now, who is Minka Kelly, a modern celebrity who looks akin to a younger Raquel? Some people might recognize her from TV shows like Jane the Virgin, Parenthood, and even as a Charlie’s Angel, according to her IMDb.

But according to Elle, the 40-year-old actress is best known for her role as Lyla Garrity on Friday Night Lights. Kelly played Lyla for four seasons up until 2009. In October 2019, Kelly reminisced about her time on the show and took to Instagram to post her reflections amid the show’s 13th anniversary.

She wrote: “There was no way a show about football - that was already a movie - about a player who breaks his neck in the pilot episode is going anywhere but a job is a job amirite!" she recalled, adding, "But it wasn’t about football. It was about relationships, family, humanity, love, and loss. It was about longing to fit in and wanting to get out. It was about life in a small town and how a community comes together in good times and bad. Little did I know I hit the proverbial jackpot and the show would go on for 5 years. I’m forever grateful."

Although it seems like Kelly is certain about her career choice, she actually had not always wanted to be an actress. According to Elle, she told Men’s Health magazine in 2008 that she wanted to be a medical professional. “I moved to California not to pursue acting but to get out of Albuquerque," she said. "I started working right away. I had four jobs." The magazine shared that one of those four jobs that she had mentioned was a surgical assistant.

Kelly changed her mind when she attended her first acting class, describing it as “ the most amazing thing [she]’d ever experienced.”  “I'd just been going so fast, I didn't realize that I had put on this whole mask of a person to survive since I was 16,” she recalled. Class was the first time anyone had ever called me on it. And I loved it. I knew acting was what I had to do with my life," she explained.

She’s also gone to culinary school. In 2015, Kelly shared a photo on her Instagram of a selfie with two of her classmates on their last day of school. She wrote: “Welp! This is the last night we'll get to make fun of each other's note taking skills... #the3amigos #lastdayofschool #culinaryschooldiaries” According to ABC News, she completed a six-month culinary course at the New School of Cooking in Culver City, California

And oh, one last thing -- she’s reportedly dating comedian and Saturday Night Live host, Trevor Noah.
