Mime Sets Off War Of Words After He ‘Humbled’ Unhelpful Dad In Front Of Wife

Parenting can be a difficult business, and everybody has their own opinions about how to go about it the right way. But what happens when somebody takes a swipe at you without even using words?

When young parents Michelle Tzenevrakis and her husband Nick shared some downtime with their 13-month-old daughter, Kalliope, at Orlando, Florida’s Seaworld, little did they realize the trip would make them viral sensations.

In a clip caught by another visitor in the stands at one of the park’s amphitheaters, Michelle was seen walking out carrying the infant on one shoulder and a full backpack on the other as Nick trailed behind her carrying nothing. Also walking behind Michelle was a mime who had picked up on something that just didn’t sit right with him. He tapped Michelle on the back and, after catching her attention, pointed at Nick as if to inquire as to whether he was the child’s father. Once it was confirmed to be so, the mime then moved around Michelle and lifted the backpack off her shoulder before handing it to Nick. The crowd erupted in applause as a flustered Nick smiled as he took the bag while the mime patted Michelle on the back. The pair then continued on their way.

As the mime watched the couple exiting the area, he then mimed making a phone call and mouthed the words, “Call me,” while looking in their direction.

The video quickly caught the attention of viewers on TikTok, who found the whole exchange hilarious. It has since amassed upwards of 2.5 million views since it was uploaded in April 2022.

Viewers were tickled by the mime’s actions in the clip but were also quick to fire shots at the dad. “Don’t treat your girl right, someone else will,” one comment read. Another user said, “Lol every man should be humbled like this at least once.”

One person said the mime "said SOOO much without saying a single word." Another lamented how “it’s sad that most men don’t do that these days,” while another said:

“Hey sometimes it takes a real old-school gentleman to teach the freaks coming up in today’s world kudos mime!!”

Others defended the father and said the criticism thrown at him wasn’t justified. “I'll definitely carry something and not put it all on her, but we don’t know their story,” one viewer wrote. Another user defended the father and said, “Ppl are using this as an excuse to be sexist and ppl are judging way too quickly.”

The 28-year-old Nick spoke to TODAY to explain his actions and said:

“That mime totally caught me off guard. At that moment, I was in a total daze. I was really hungry and my feet were hurting me.”

As it turned out, the father wasn’t too bothered about the critics and told the outlet he agreed the clip “was pretty funny.”

His wife, 31-year-old Michelle, meanwhile, responded to the brickbats that had been thrown at Nick and asserted he was nothing less than a supportive and loving husband and father. “Nick is the greatest father and I want to make sure that people know that,” Michelle said, adding that he had been the one pushing the baby stroller – which they couldn’t bring inside the amphitheater – the whole day. She gushed:

“He does so much for us. He’s just awesome in every way.”
