Mila Kunis & Ashton Kutcher Got Married With $190 Wedding Rings Purchased Online And She Stood By Him During Health Scare

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher's love story is reminiscent of the rom-com movies they have starred in over the years. The pair's love story started as a typical Hollywood romance that transcended into something profound and inspiring. 

Despite being stars in their own right, Kunis and Kutcher opted for something mundane when they became man and wife. The pair got married on July 4, 2015, in a lowkey ceremony that included a surprising detail — the price of their wedding rings.  

The couple's love story goes back to 2012 when eagle-eyed fans suspected they were more than colleagues. However, they met more than a decade before that. Kunis and Kutcher first met as colleagues on the set of the teen sitcom, "That '70s Show." They played the on-screen love interests, Michael Kelso and Jackie Burkhart. 

Their on-screen chemistry did not immediately manifest in their real lives. While Kutcher married movie star Demi Moore, Kunis was in a relationship with "Home Alone" star Macaulay Culkin. Moore and the "Your Place or Mine" actor became separated in 2011, and the following year there were rumors of a romance with Kunis. The latter had also ended her relationship with Culkin in 2011. 

Fans spotted the actors sharing a kiss at a party in Los Angeles, although an insider told Us Weekly that they were "not exclusive." In a 2018 interview on the WTF podcast, Kunis confirmed that she and Kutcher initially agreed to "just hook up." Prior to becoming an item, they played similar roles with other actors in the movies, "No Strings Attached" and "Friends With Benefit." Just like in the rom-com, Kunis and Kutcher eventually caught feelings.  

The star revealed how she felt a pang of jealousy when the "The Ranch" actor told her he was dating someone else. She admitted how she felt about him, and he asked her to move in with him. According to Hello, Kutcher once shared the moment he confessed his love for Kunis. The star noted that he had been listening to Kenny Chesney and Grace Potter's "You and Tequila" when he got the courage.

Kutcher recalled visiting Kunis' house at 2 am to confess his feelings. Their romance kicked off, and in October 2014, the "Bad Moms" star gave birth to their first child, a baby girl named Wyatt Isabelle. Two years later, in 2016, the happy pair became second-time parents to a baby boy Dimitri Portwood. 

Before their son was born, Kunis and Kutcher had the rumor mills working again in February 2015 when news got out that they became man and wife. However, they kept mum, neither confirming nor denying it. Later that year, they were joined in marriage during an intimate ceremony at The Secret Garden Parrish in California. 

Kunis and Kutcher have had a good run in Hollywood. They both made a name for themselves and have individual net worths to show for it. The "Ted" actress has a $75 million net worth per Celebrity Net Worth. 

Per THR, her income soared as far back as 2013 when she was announced as one of four voice actors on "Family Guy" to be paid higher. The pay was between $175,000 and $225,000 per episode. 

As of a July 2023 update on Celebrity Net Worth, Kutcher is worth $200 million. Besides acting, he made early investments in startups like Uber, Reasefcate, Zenreach, Shazam and Soundcloud. He also owns a firm called A-Grade Investments.

Despite their fine financial profiles, the couple opted for simplicity during their wedding. Kunis and Kutcher purchased wedding bands that cost $190 on Etsy. Once in an interview on "Conan," Kunis revealed that Kutcher got her a beautiful engagement ring, but she decided to buy their bands on Etsy.

She recalled that while shopping for the rings, the prices were "astronomical," but on searching Etsy, she found nice bands that cost less and wasted no time purchasing them. The duo is one of Hollywood's most loved couples, but their union has weathered some storms.  

In November 2019, Kutcher was diagnosed with a rare vasculitis affecting his vision. Speaking to Bear Grylls on "Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge," Kutcher recounted the life-threatening experience. 

He stated, "I had this weird, super rare form of vasculitis, that like knocked out my vision, it knocked out my hearing, it knocked out like all my equilibrium." The TV star overcame the health challenges with his wife by his side. Kunis told ET in 2022:

"I don't think you have time to sit down and talk, you kinda just power through. You go and deal with whatever health issue comes your way, but you still got kids, you still got a family, you have to live life." 

Kunis and Kutcher pulled through the latter's health issues, knowing that they had each other's backs. The celebrity couple is living it up with two kids at their ultra-modern farmhouse in California. The couple's timbered home is solar-powered, with abundant water for their crops. The "Luckiest Girl Alive" actress and her family moved into their home four months before COVID-19 was declared a pandemic.
