Meghan Markle Shows Off Living Room As She Wishes 'America's Got Talent''s Archie Williams Luck

Meghan Markle has had a very busy last couple of months. For starters, she gave birth to her and Prince Harry's second child, a daughter named Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, on June 4. Named in honor of both her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and Harry's late mother Princess Diana, Lilibet's birth propelled the couple back into the press.

Then a few days later, the Duchess of Sussex released her very first children's book titled "The Bench." The book began as a poem that Markle wrote to Harry one Father's Day before it was turned into a book with gorgeous illustrations by Christian Robinson. Released on June 8, it didn't take long for "The Bench" to become a #1 New York Times bestseller, proving that Markle's talents lie in much more than just acting. Markle then gave an interview to NPR about "The Bench," which was her first one since her and Harry's bombshell interview with Oprah in March.

Although the Sussex's have only given the public small glimpses into their Montecito, California home, we have been able to see some areas via video calls. One such moment was when Markle appeared on the TV show "America's Got Talent" in Sep. 2020, where she recorded a supportive message for contestant Archie Williams, one of the show's finalists.

Filmed in what appears to be the living room of her and Harry's home, the space is very bright and cozy looking. Making mention of her son's name also being Archie, Markle's supportive message to Williams appeared to be very touching for the singer.

Around the same time last year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also made a short video for the Time 100 special, in which they were seated in their backyard, as they urged viewers to register to vote.

Meghan Markle's short video for "America's Got Talent" is just one of the video appearances that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made in the last year. In the various videos they've offered the public a glimpse into their Montecito, California home and the time on "AGT" was no exception.

Filmed in what appears to be the couple's living room, Markle is seated on a large white couch covered in cushions. The room appears airy and bright, with cream walls that are covered in artwork. Behind her is a bench that features large coffee table books, including "The Black Godfather" and "Women," candles, including the prestige French brand Diptyque in the scent "Tuberose," and a vase of hydrangeas. Overall the vibe is very relaxed and cozy.

Markle herself looked glowing, as she donned a beige Victoria Beckham blouse, which she wore with black leather pants. Speaking to contestant Archie Williams, 60, Markle explained that she and Harry had been "moved" by his story. Since 1983, Williams had been in prison for 37 years for a crime that he didn't commit, before being released in 2019 when it was proven that he was in fact innocent. Just over one year later, Williams auditioned for "America's Got Talent" to pursue his lifelong passion for singing and made it onto the show.

During her short video appearance, Markle said to Williams:

"I just wanted to let you know that we've been so moved by your story, and we have been cheering you on every week, and it's not just because we're partial to the name."

The duchess continued on, making reference to the fact that her own son is named Archie once again:

"So a very special message to you that I will probably be saying all of my life, but on this night it is specifically for you: Archie, we are proud of you, and we are rooting for you, and we can't wait to see what you do. We're in your corner."

The message was a very sweet one and it appeared to touch Williams personally when the camera showed his reaction. But the "AGT" message wasn't the only video appearance Markle made that gave viewers a glimpse into her and Harry's Montecito home last year. Both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared in the Time 100 special in Sep. 2020, in which they urged Americans to register to vote. In the video, Markle stated:

"Now we're just six weeks out from Election Day, and today is National Voter Registration Day. Every four years, we are told the same thing, that 'this is the most important election of our lifetime.' But this one is. When we vote, our values are put into action and our voices are heard. Your voice is a reminder that you matter. Because you do. And you deserve to be heard."

Whether delivering important PSAs to the public or wishes of support and luck to entertainers, the duke and duchess' video appearances might be rare but when they do arrive, they often seem to offer a glimpse into the couple's quiet American life.
