Marine’s 3-Year-Old Son Makes Special Appearance At Dad’s Promotion & Steals The Show

When one Marine was promoted, his toddler was not going to sit there and not be part of the show.
One video, which was uploaded to YouTube in November 2016, has taken the world by storm and melted hearts with its endearing exchange between a father and his young son. When the Marine moved up the ranks and a ceremony was held to mark the occasion, his little boy got in on the act and made the day even more special for his proud dad.
In the video, a formation of Marines stood before their superior as he read out a declaration to welcome them into their new chapter. One of the men marched to the front of the formation before his superior as the superior continued to explain the new responsibilities he would be taking on from here on out.
“As a sergeant of Marines, you must set the example for others to emulate," his superior read out loud. "You are responsible for the accomplishment of your assigned mission, and for the safety, professional development, and well-being of the Marines of your charge."
He continued: “You will be the embodiment of our institutional core values of honor, courage, and commitment. You will lead your marines with firmness, fairness, and dignity while observing the following orders of your senior leaders and enforcing all regulations and articles…”
As the superior read out the message, the Marine stayed stoic and stock-still. However, once it was over, the Marine’s cool exterior gave way to adoration after a special guest made his entrance.
The video continued with the Marine waiting to change the pins on his lapel to mark his promotion. However, for this special man, the honor would be undertaken by his very own, and very adorable, 3-year-old son.
The little boy with the cutest head of blond curls walks up to his father excitedly. When he reached the men in the front, his exclamation of “Good afternoon, gentlemen” couldn’t help but incite a little laughter from his dad. The Marine then kneels down low to allow the young boy to change the pins on his right lapel before moving to his left one. His dad was able to maintain his composure as the child changed the pins but once the child was done and after they hugged, the marine erupted in smiles and laughter as he stood up. He then made his way back into the back of the formation looking like the proudest father in the world.
Since the sweet video was uploaded in 2016, it has proven to be a huge hit with over 27 million views! It’s clear the young boy has not only stolen his father’s heart but hearts the world over.

Thank you for letting this child play such an important role!” one user commented, while another said, “This is VERY personal. To allow a child to render the promotion shows how much US service men and women care about and respect their country. Good show people 🙂.”
