Woodpeckers causing damage to siding is certainly not unheard of. What was really surprising is what Mark discovered when he pulled apart the insulation. Suddenly, all of the holes made sense.
The pesky woodpeckers had been using the pool house as storage for their food. Inside, Mark found thousands of acorns that the woodpeckers had hidden away.
Mark believes that the woodpeckers had been making the holes in an effort to hide their acorns for later. However, the birds did not realize that the walls were hollow and so they would lose their food stash in the insulation.
Apparently, the woodpeckers were not smart enough to figure out the errors of their ways and just continued to lose their food in the walls.
The best part of the video is Mark's astonishment as the acorns just keep falling out. It truly is amazing to see the sheer amount of acorns that these woodpeckers managed to lose within the walls of the pool house.
