Man Finally Builds An Igloo With Several Rooms For His Family To Enjoy After Years Of Planning

There are many ways a parent can make their children feel loved. While some parents love to spend on their children, there are also those who exert extra effort by making everything from scratch. Some moms, for one, like to show their affection by knitting or crocheting outfits or even toys for their children. Dads, on the other hand, often love to go big and build toys made out of wood they cut themselves. But sometimes, toys aren’t enough, so they allow their children to create their own little worlds by building tree houses for their children. But have you ever come across someone who built an igloo for their children? Well, believe it or not, a man from Ohio built one for his family – taking fatherhood to the next level.

Those who live in snowy places have built something out of snow one way or another. From creating a snowman to building a fort, the sky’s the limit for those who dare to imagine. But one man from the city of South Euclid in Ohio proved there’s so much else people can do – and it was literally larger than life as he built an igloo out of snow. Yes, an igloo where several people can fit inside – much like the ones people see in the Northern countries of Canada and Greenland. He did all of it just to make his family happy.

Blake Dixon has always been a fan of snow. When he was in middle school, he dreamt of building large structures – such as a castle – out of snow.

In January of 2023, he took advantage of the snowy weather and finally turned his dream into reality.

But it actually took him years to conceptualize and come up with a plan to realize his dream.

Thankfully, he wasn’t alone through it all, as he also had his friends to help him out.

Even though he had reinforcement to help him succeed in his quest, they actually encountered a few problems in the beginning.

According to one of Dixon’s friends, their first attempt failed after the top collapsed due to the process of working on the inside and pulling them all out. But thankfully, they didn’t give up and found a way to reconstruct the dome of the igloo.

“When we first started working on it, all we had was a pile of snow, and then we were working on the inside to pull it all out,” a friend of Dixon told Fox 8.

“The top collapsed, and with some ingenuity from Blake, as well as a little bit of persistence, we were able to reconstruct the dome.”

While some people might think it’s a second-rate igloo where kids can play around, it is it could function as an actual igloo as it has its own full sitting area, a hallway, and a second room. To top it off, it can accommodate as much seven adults and two children all at once.

In an Instagram post shared in February of 2023, Dixon showed the final product as he thanked everyone who helped him out for making his dream come true. Plus, those who wanted to experience what it feels like to live there were able to do so as he opened it for rent.

“Here is the final product! Thanks for everyone’s help. Let me know if anyone wants to rent it out!” he wrote in the caption of his post.

In the end, makes Dixon’s engineering is it makes people feel cozy even though it’s cold out there.
