There is a comical rivalry by mailmen and dogs that is often portrayed by cartoons and movies.

Most dogs bark at mailmen to mark their territory and protect their owners. After all, dogs don't understand the concept of mail.

This relationship between mailmen and dogs is relatively harmless and understandable. However, there are some dogs that don't fit this description.

Jeff Kramer is a mailman from Colorado who has developed a friendship with a dog named Tashi.

In an interview with Dialy Camera Boulder News, Kramer talked about the first time that he met Tashi. He was driving his mail route along Bluebell Avenue when Tashi came running up alongside his truck.

"As fast as he could — which was not very fast — he ran up to me tail wagging, first day I met him,” He told reporters “He’s just a really friendly dog. And I am a dog person, and they can tell.”

Karen Dimetrosky, Tashi's owner, found the relationship adorable. She would watch in awe as her dog would wait patiently every morning for the mailman to arrive.

"Tashi adores Jeff,'' she told TODAY. "He has always wagged his tail and pulled us over to his mail truck. He will now get off his bed and come greet Jeff at the door when he delivers a package."

Tashi greeted Kramer in his truck every day without fail. One day, Kramer saw Tashi's owner carrying her down the stairs.

The 14-year-old lab was having trouble getting down from the porch to greet her best friend. Kramer was sad to see Tashi in pain. Instead of giving up on the dog, Kramer decided to put his handyman skills to use.

Kramer installed a ramp at Tashi's house to make it easier for the dog to walk up and down from the porch.

He had originally used the ramp for his own dog named Odie. The ramp hadn't been in use for over five years since Odie passed away. Kramer held onto the ramp just in case he would need it in the future. The ramp was the perfect solution.

Dimetrosky was excited to see her dog moving freely in and out of the house. She admitted that her family isn't very handy. Dimestrosky was thankful that her mailman was kind enough to install the ramp.

Now, Tashi is able to continue greeting her best friend every day.
