Little Boy Makes A Frantic Call To Grandma When His Dad Overdoses - What He Says Will Break Your Heart

Everyone knows how serious illegal drug use is in this country. But prescription drug use is also a very grave problem that takes the lives of thousands of men and women per year. More than 55 million men and women aged 12 and up have admitted to using prescription drugs at least once in their life for non-medical reasons.

In September of 2017, a five-year-old Tyler Cail's life changed forever. Tyler was spending the weekend with his father Mark. His parents had split up and he was enjoying some father-son time with his 36-year-old dad. 

Mark had recently been in an automobile accident and had been prescribed various painkillers to help his severe pain. He was given tramadol, oxycodone, and zopiclone to help relieve his symptoms. 

Unfortunately, he took a dose that weekend that would prove to be fatal to him. When Tyler woke up, he found his dad unresponsive in bed. He had blood pouring out of his nose. 

The little boy was smart enough to grab the phone and make a call to his grandmother. He told her desperately that he “couldn’t wake daddy.” The paramedics were called and soon arrived. However, the dose had been fatal. Mark was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Donna Yates is the mother of little Tyler. She has stated that he has had to receive counseling after witnessing his dad’s overdose. She said that it is so very heartbreaking that the little boy was a witness to such a terrible tragedy.
