The spirit of the holidays has a way of touching all of us to very inspiring way. For one Indiana boy, that was to donate all of his savings to help provide some comfort and joy to those pets without a home in the holiday season.
According to WANE, Henry Gallagher and his grandmother had just finished watching a movie, and they began a conversation about homeless pets that live in animal shelters. The very idea of how these pets must be feeling inspired Henry to do something about it.
"I took all the money in my piggy bank and donated it to the puppies and the kitties," Henry said about his heartfelt donation that was made to the Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control.

However, when the rest of the family learned about what their family member had done, they caught the spirit of the holidays, as well. Inspired by the child's actions, the family took up a collection to add to Henry's initial $20. When all was said and done, the total amount of the collection grew to 100 dollars.
A Social Media post by the shelter praised Henry's "sweetest" gesture, saying that they were "so thankful Harry chose to help the animals in our shelter."
As a reward for his helpful heart, the animal shelter allowed some of the animals he helped to thank him in person, when he visited to deliver the donation.
The youth so clearly see and reflect what is truly important to remember. It is a great example where a child led the way in bringing a little holiday love to those animals in need. Send this heartwarming story to your friends and family as well!
