Over the Christmas holiday, Leonardo DiCaprio vacationed on a yacht in the Caribbean with girlfriend Camila Morrone and friends. Unfortunately, the experience was not as idyllic as it should have been, as Leo ended up responding to a distress call and rescuing a drowning man.
Missing man
The actor's relaxing cruise was interrupted on December 30 when his yacht received an emergency alert that a 24-year-old French man who had indulged in a bit too much pre-New Year's celebrating had fallen out of his boat and was missing, as reported here in The Telegraph.

The search was on
DiCaprio had learned a great deal about survival techniques while preparing for his role in The Revenant and is just an all-around nice guy, so he instructed the captain of his yacht to go looking for the missing man. By the time they found him, the man had been missing for 11 hours and was in grave danger of drowning.
Safe against the odds
Leo, his friends and crew provided the man with warm blankets and food until he was in a fit state to be collected by his crew. Authorities estimate that it was a "billion to one" chance that he survived.
