Laura Stampler & Maurice Goldstein's Engagement Combines 16 Dogs, Disney Songs, & An Incredible View

The work I do as a relationship writer has provided me with the opportunity to see more than my share of marriage and engagement stories.

And to be honest, all of them have scored high marks for romanticism. But one proposal I have had the pleasure of viewing recently stands out from the many others.

The one of its kind engagement between Maurice Goldstein and Laura Stampler made use of 16 dogs, a best friend, and a view that caused everyone present to stand open-mouthed in amazement. And if that wasn't enough, there was an acapella singing group on hand to serenade Laura with Disney songs.

You will not truly understand how special the 16 dogs are until you hear a little backstory. Laura is a dog lover. She is so interested in all things concerning dogs she once penned a book about them. The novel was about a girl working as a dating blogger in New York City who develops multiple crushes. One of these crushes is on a man who happens to be a dog walker.

Dogs also have a special place in the heart of Goldstein. Maurice has a longtime family dog who goes by the name of Scout. The German Shepherd was unable to attend the engagement ceremony due to an ongoing recovery from a hip issue. A friend of the couple, Tony, was responsible for rounding up the dogs present at the engagement.

Goldstein looked to the friends of his future wife to ask for help with the other elements of the event. Laura openly displays her amusement when explaining her fiance searched out different friends to help with different parts of the event. Laura laughed while explaining all her friends turned out to be great liars. She says she would not have thought them all capable of working on such an event and not arouse any suspicion in her at all.

While some people wondered if there were too many elements to the proposal, Maurice blended them together perfectly. He even thought to hire people to park in spots that would be needed by attendees to assure they all had parking spaces when they arrived.

The event was perfect and both families celebrated at a restaurant after the proposal.

If it was not already clear Maurice had considered everything necessary for a perfect event, Laura's friend Rebecca Yale, a professional photographer, was there to record all the best moments of the day.

The couple feels their proposal perfectly mirrors their relationship. They first met in 2011. Both were involved with other people at the time but would run into each other occasionally

Laura admits she was always attracted to Maurice and had a hunch they would be compatible as partners. She says ironically, they ended up using a dating app to make the 'love' connection.

Laura says she was working on a piece for Time magazine that required she research dating apps. She was reporting on a new feature offered by Tinder and downloaded the app. She deleted the app once her then-boyfriend complained. Laura admits she was not very smart at the time as she deleted Tinder from her phone knowing full well it was on his phone.

A few months later, when Laura was single and ready to consider the possibility of dating again, she downloaded the Tinder app once more. One of the first things she found was a message sent some time ago from Maurice. She sent a text and the two of them met a few days later for drinks. Laura says she has never been on a date with any other man following her first evening out with Maurice.

It is difficult not to be happy for this couple. They have not yet decided when the nuptials will take place but the future is bright before them. However, they do know the location of the marriage.

Laura explains that she and Maurice are both natives of Los Angeles. And even though they both live in New York where they met, they will go home to get married.
