Lady Gaga shared the story that got her so emotional during the shooting of the film with Mashable, and it is easy to see why she was the way she was. Before shooting the last part of the film, Lady Gaga received a call from the hospital that Sonja Durham, her best friend, who was battling stage IV cancer, was not doing well.

From the call, she heard Sonja moaning, and she knew that her condition was worsening. That was when she ran out without even notifying Bradley and drove off to the hospital. Upon getting to the hospital, her friend had passed away just 10 minutes before.

She laid with Sonja’s husband and stepson for a while before going back on set. According to her, Sonja gave her a gift that day, the emotions to create the song that got everyone crying. She sang her heart out for Sonja, for Jackson, and for the crowd.

Every word resonated with the emotions she was feeling, and for a moment, she forgot she was on set. She recalls that Bradley was so kind to her that he kept telling her that she didn’t have to redo the song many times, but all she wanted to do was sing her heart out.

Lady Gaga left her heart on stage that day, but she notes that she was not the star that day. According to her, the star of the film was human courage and bravery. People need to look out for each other, as fame and accolades will one day fade.

She says life is hard, but when people work together, it becomes simpler, and that is the beauty of everything. In the film was the Lady Gaga we all know with her beautiful voice, but she had more emotions than in any other song she has sung before.
