Kurt Russell's Son Wyatt Is One Of The Hunkiest Men Alive Today

Kurt Russell is known for being an actor and a producer, creating a hugely successful career for himself. He’s also known for having a great long-lasting relationship with his partner Goldie Hawn. Russell accepted Hawn’s children from a previous marriage happily, and continued their family with the birth of their son Wyatt Russell. Although he was raised in an incredibly famous household. Wyatt was taught to work for things he wanted and always try his best. His parents supported the steps he took in a variety of careers, helping along the way.

Russell was born March 17, 1951, in Springfield, Massachusetts. He moved to the state of California and served in the California Air National Guard from 1969 to 1975. While living in the state, he came across opportunities to enter the entertainment industry and tried his hand at acting. He worked his way up in the industry, becoming extremely successful and having a beautiful and successful family as well. 

Russell and his son have a few similarities besides their genetic makeup. They have both acted for the same company and both played professional sports. While their journeys are not completely the same, they have strong parallels to one another. Russell and Hawn are both in their 70s, but you wouldn’t know it based on how youthful and stunning they look. They must have passed the right genes down to their son, Wyatt, who is just as beautiful as the rest of the family. Along with his stellar looks, Wyatt has grown to make a name for himself through his now retired hockey career and his ever-evolving acting career.

Russell made his feature film debut in “It Happened at the World’s Fair,” although the role was uncredited. He finally got his name on the small screen in 1963 with a guest-starring role on the ABC series “Our Man Higgins.” Russell continued to get roles on a few different ABC series throughout the start of his career, ultimately leading him to work with a partnering network. He signed a 10-year contract with The Walt Disney Company in 1966, taking his career to the next level. While working with the popular company, he continued to get work in films and television shows through other networks.

Alongside his developing acting career, Russell also had a baseball career in the early 1970s. He played for a few teams, including the Bend Rainbows and the California Angels, now known as the Los Angeles Angels. Unfortunately, he suffered an injury to his throwing arm while playing in 1973, causing him to retire from the sport the same year. He then made the choice to return to acting, picking up jobs again easily.

He went on to work with director John Carpenter on a series of projects during the 1980s. He also made his return to Disney to provide his voice for the animated movie “The Fox and the Hound” in 1981. His career has continued all the way through the 2020s, acquiring a variety of roles, and receiving favorable feedback and accolades along the way. Russell won his first award in 1997 for Favorite Actor in an Adventure/Drama at the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards. One of his more recent awards was at the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards in 2016 for Best Actor. He was inducted into the Fangoria Horror Hall of Fame the same year.

Russell met his current and longtime partner, Hawn, while filming the musical “The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band” that was released in 1968. The two did not date at the time, but happily found each other a few years later. Russell married actress Season Hubley in 1979 and had one son with her named Boston. The couple was together for a few years before divorcing in 1983. He quickly began dating Hawn shortly after his divorce. The pair was reunited professionally when they starred alongside one another in “Swing Shift” in 1984. 

Hawn is known for being a producer, actress, singer and dancer, conquering a variety of talents. She was married to actor and musician Bill Hudson from 1976 until 1982. The pair had two children together who grew up to follow in their parents’ footsteps. Both Oliver Hudson and Kate Hudson grew to be well-known actors and continue to work today on a number of projects. Oliver has been acting since 1999, with some of his more popular roles including his work on the television shows “Nashville” and “Scream Queens.”

Kate is most famously known for her work in romantic comedies, including films such as “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” in 2003 and “Bride Wars” in 2009. She has ventured out as an author and a fashion entrepreneur, as well as continuing to work as an actress. One of her biggest successes comes from her work with the popular fitness brand Fabletics. Kate co-founded the brand, which is mostly dedicated to creating great leggings tailored for women to wear during their workouts. Kate and Oliver’s half-brother, Wyatt, is the son of their mother and her longtime partner Russell.

The family is not just beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well. The women in the family have both worked with different charities and organizations, bringing awareness to social issues important to them. Hawn started The Goldie Hawn Foundation, which helps children focus on education by providing emotional and social learning programs to aid along the way. The foundation’s focus is to help children feel less pressured and stressed with outside factors in their lives, so they are better able to focus on their education and build a strong future for themselves.

The main program associated with The Goldie Hawn Foundation is MindUP. According to the MindUP website, the program is based in neuroscience, and works to give “children the knowledge and tools they need to manage stress, regulate emotions and face the challenges of the 21st century with optimism, resilience and compassion.” A message from Hawn left on the site depicts her reasoning behind starting the program. She believes that children are the foundation for creating a better tomorrow. In order to help make the future better, children need to be given access to resources to help them learn how to cope with their negative feelings and actions.

As well as sitting on the board of directors of MindUP, Kate has also worked as an ambassador for WildAid, a foundation dedicated to protecting wildlife and reducing the demand for what animals can provide. The foundation has a list of celebrity ambassadors who work to raise awareness through their personal platforms as well as professional campaigns. Kate also supports Last Chance for Animals, another organization dedicated to helping animals, and Donate Life America. Donate Life America is dedicated to finding donors and helping people get the transplants they need. 

Although Russell and Hawn have been together for an astonishing 38 years, they have no intention of getting married. During an interview with People in December 2020, the longtime couple talked about how they didn’t think that step was completely necessary for their relationship. “For people like us, the marriage certificate wasn’t going to create anything that otherwise we wouldn’t have,” Russell said.

The couple went on to talk about how they have both been married to other people before, and how all of their children have gotten married, even though some of the relationships didn’t fully work out. “The point is that we all tried marriage and sometimes marriage doesn’t work,” Hawn said, furthering her explanation for not seeing the reason to wed Russell now. 

For Russell and Hawn, it’s more important to continue working on their relationship than to have a ceremony solidifying it. “It’s about the people and the relationship, and the will to stay together,” Hawn said. “And that’s a big one because if you want it, you can have it. You’ve got to give things up, but the joy and the excitement of being together and touching the toes of somebody at night is really a nice feeling.”

Although they aren’t married, Russell accepted and treated Hawn’s children as if they were his own, raising them in one of their many homes together in Colorado. The couple has other homes across North America, including properties in New York, California and British Columbia in Canada. They have been successful in their own careers, as well as in their relationship together. Russell and Hawn both have stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, receiving them together in a double star ceremony in May 2017.

Russell and Hawn’s gorgeous boy Wyatt was born July 10, 1986 in Los Angeles, California. It may have taken him some time to come back to the career, but Wyatt had his first taste of acting when he was just a baby. He had an uncredited role in the film “Overboard” in 1987 alongside his father. Wyatt didn’t have the dream to act growing up. Instead, he followed another one of his father’s career paths and became an athlete. Wyatt played for a number of amateur and professional hockey teams as a goaltender. He has played in a few countries across Europe, as well as in British Columbia. He also played NCAA hockey for the Chargers at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Alabama. 

During an interview with The Off Camera Show in 2019, Wyatt talked about how his parents had always been supportive of him throughout all of his life choices, especially when it came to playing hockey. The family even moved to Vancouer to watch Wyatt play and see him progress in his athletic career. Although his family was very supportive, not everyone else he encountered was. When he first moved to Canada, he had to prove himself as a serious hockey player since he came from such a famous family. Wyatt worked hard at showcasing his talent and worth.

Unfortunately, his career was cut short due to injuries, resulting in him finally returning to the world of acting. He went on to star in a long list of films and television series, including “Black Mirror” and “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” The latter welcomed him into the Disney family, once again parallelling his father’s journey.

While playing hockey in the Netherlands, Wyatt met a stylist, Sanne Hamers. The pair got married in March 2012, but the romance was short-lived. They separated in March 2015 before finalizing their divorce in October 2017. During his time being separated from Hamers, Wyatt began dating actress Meredith Hagner. They met on the set of the 2015 film “Folk Hero and Funny Guy.” The couple happily married in 2019, and welcomed their son Buddy Prine Russell in March 2021.

During an interview with POPSUGAR Entertainment in May 2013, Wyatt talked about the transition from hockey to acting. “At the time I kind of didn’t know what I wanted to do,” Wyatt said. Even though he had been in a movie before, he never had the acting bug growing up. During his time playing hockey in Alabama, he was given the opportunity to take another shot at acting. Wyatt explained, “When that door sort of opened up, I thought, you know, why not try it?”

He also talked about the want to continue growing despite having some success already. “You’re competitive with yourself,” Wyatt said. Luckily, Wyatt comes from an incredible supportive family. They make sure to not make anyone feel like they’re being overshadowed by anyone else. “Nobody tries to be bigger than the other person or one-up anybody,” Wyatt explained.

Wyatt’s family is full of fame, wealth and wonder, but it is also full of love and support. The family members have all been bitten by the acting bug, although it may have taken a little longer for some to truly find their way in the industry. Wyatt continues to make his parents proud. From playing hockey professionally to becoming a successful actor, Wyatt has proven to be a force to reckon with.
