Kristen Bell Turned Her Backyard Into A Remote-Controlled Car Race Track For Dax Shepard

The coronavirus pandemic has changed how we live our lives, but there have been some positives to lockdown. Spending more time with family has been a blessing, as well as many people finally having the time to indulge in their hobbies.
That goes for celebrities too, with Dax Shepard spending quarantine time perfecting his remote-controlled car racing skills. This prompted his wife Kristen Bell to set up a very special surprise for Father's Day last week when she turned their backyard into an RC car race track for Dax.
Posting to Instagram, Bell revealed photos and videos of the day, including a photo of their family (with their two kids, Delta and Lincoln's faces covered up with emojis), pictures of the day's setup, and a video that showed the remote-controlled (or radio-controlled) cars in action. She captioned the post with a heartfelt message to Dax, which stated:
"You have made all of our dreams come true. You are the most patient, affectionate, enthusiastic, and funniest dad we could imagine. Since you've spent alot [sic] of this quarentine [sic] practicing RC racing, we hope transforming your backyard into an RC race track made you as happy as you make us every single day. We are forever your race fans, your pit crew, and your cheering section...We love you so very much @daxshepard 💜💜💜 Xo Kb, lincoln and delta."
The day looked very fun and rather authentic, with a race track lined up with flags and balloons, a "Race Fans" area safely situated on some external stairs, and Dax set up on a La-Z-Boy enjoying himself as he raced his cars.

The Hollywood couple are known for their public outings together and open adoration of each other, often talking about their relationship on talk shows and in interviews. Although they met after they were both working in Hollywood, Shepard and Bell both grew up in Detroit's northern suburbs, and Bell has even joked that if it wasn't for the Detroit Red Wings hockey team, they wouldn't be together.
As reported by Michigan Live, Bell reflected on their initial encounter in an interview from 2017, saying: "We were both at the Kings-Wings game. We just started talking and we immediately had this connection because we were both from Michigan." A lifelong Red Wings fan, Bell played up a joke that the host had made suggesting that if it weren't for the team, they wouldn't be together as a couple. She joked:
"I wouldn't have my husband, I wouldn't have my kids. I wouldn't have this job in Chips. Could you imagine? Everything, everything comes from the Red Wings. I owe them a lot."
It's both Bell and Shepard's sense of humor that makes them such a beloved couple in Hollywood. But clearly their Detroit roots still play a role in their lives too. Shepard, who had worked for General Motors for 14 years, has been a lifelong car fan and obviously the RC car racing is an extension of that love. In an interview with Motor Trend, Dax had said in the past: "I can't actually remember a moment in life when I wasn't into cars. I don't think there was a specific thing. I just immediately loved them." What a special Father's Day gift for Dax!
