Kids Rescue Pitbull Used For Fighting That Was Dumped On Roadside

In 2015, a group of children made a shocking discovery in the grass while taking a walk in Pennsylvania. Almost unnoticeable, a dog lay still on the side of the road. The pitbull looked to be hanging on to its last thread, and the children immediately called emergency services for help. When the rescue workers first saw the pitbull, they believed he may already have died. However, once the dog stirred lightly, he was rushed to the hospital. When being treated, he was discovered to be a fighting dog that was abandoned to die. 

The group of caring kids stayed close and soon realized the dog was still alive, but in need of urgent medical care. Immediately, the kids knew to call 911 right away for help, according to The Dodo. The emergency dispatcher knew to send out an Animal Control officer right away.

When Animal Control arrived, the officer thought he was unfortunately too late, reports Fox29 in the video below. The animal looked to be dead and there was nothing he could do to help. Then the unthinkable happened. The struggling pitbull moved. The animal control officer went into action and raced the dying dog to the vet. He knew time was running out and the dog needed emergency care.

Upon examination, the vet found bite marks covered the pitbull’s body. The animal was weak and in grave condition fighting for its life. The vet suspected the pit bull was a victim of dog fighting because of its condition, according to the Fox29 video below. Dogfighting is an illegal practice that abuses dogs until they are no longer of any use.

After much care and recuperation, it is safe to say that this grateful dog is going to be alright. This amazing pit bull is finally living the life it deserves and is safe from the cruel world it once knew.

Thanks to the group of kids walking home that night, this dog has a second chance at life and owes it all to them. This is sure to be an evening they all won’t forget anytime soon. It is safe to say you never know where the night will lead you. Thanks to these caring, quick-thinking kids, their night turned into saving a dog’s life.
