Kelly Ripa’s Daughter Lola Ignites Debate Over Not So ‘Demure’ Topless Photo

Lola Consuelos is the 23-year-old daughter of TV personalities Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. As public figures, Ripa and Mark are no strangers to controversy, and their family dynamics have often been a topic of discussion among fans. “(They tell me) just to stay humble, respectful, kind, and hardworking,” Lola shared. “It’s always been their priority in raising my brothers and I, just how to act in general, not even just in specifically your career, but everyday life.”

Regardless of what critics think, we’re glad to see Ripa and Mark supporting their daughter.

Lola recently set the internet abuzz after sharing a bold topless photo on social media. The image, which was tastefully done, showed Lola posing with her back to the camera, partially covering herself in a creative and elegant manner. The singer followed up the picture of her soaking up the sun by jumping on the popular social media “demure” trend with the caption:

“Is this demure?”

Her mother, Ripa, was one of the top commenters, responding to her daughter’s question with:

“It’s very mindful.” 

The singer posted the trending picture in a series of holiday snaps of her enjoying the summer on a beach chair, sporting chic sunglasses, a silk scarf and an olive green bikini. However, as expected with anything posted online, the photos sparked a wave of reactions, both supportive and critical. Some of Lola’s fans praised her for being unapologetically herself, while others felt that it was quite inappropriate. 

“Considering that Demure means modesty, then no this is very much not modest nor demure,” one user said.

Echoing the sentiments of the first, another commented:

“Demure I don’t believe is the word-maybe I don’t get it. I say why because you have a cute girl with her song. Why that pic? Maybe I’m to old fashioned-sorry.”

Some of her followers came to her defense, reasserting her right to self-expression, saying:

“Omg she is beautiful talented not showing anything. Why any questions asked! Demure and beautiful youth! Enjoy it!”

Others noted the resemblance the young singer bears to her famous parents, commenting:
