Actor Keanu Reeves, 58, is known to be one of Hollywood's nicest guys. On top of being a movie star, in recent years, he's also developed a reputation as "the internet's boyfriend" due to how much netizens love him. There are many reasons that fans love Reeves — from the fact that he's a bonafide action star whose filmography includes "The Matrix" and "John Wick" franchises, among other notable movies, to becoming the star of many popular memes. Reeves is simply one of Hollywood's most beloved actors and an icon of the internet.
But there are plenty of other examples out there that show just why Reeves is considered such a stand-up guy. There's the time that he gave up his seat on the subway for a stranger, as well as the various moments he's shared with homeless people on the streets, listening to their stories. Or there are the many donations he's given to charities or shared his wealth with the film crews that helped make his movies.
He once again proved exactly why he's earned this reputation and why everybody loves him so much when he surprised his stunt team from the latest "John Wick" movie with a brand new Rolex watch each.
Among his kindness on set, Reeves is also a person who is bursting with talent and skill – may it be acting, performing, or any other impressive skill – Reeves can do it brilliantly.
His good friend, Nicolas Cage, attested to Reeve’s greatness in a Question and Answer portion on Reddit’s Ask Me Anything Thread, even revealing his favorite movies of Reeves. Read on to learn more about the hilarious encounter!
Cage is an American actor and filmmaker. Cage was born Nicolas Kim Coppola on Jan. 7, 1964, in Long Beach, California, and is a member of the famous Coppola family. His father was August Coppola, who is the brother of director Francis Ford Coppola.
Cage is the winner of an Academy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Golden Globe Award for his acting talent. He is known for such films as “Leaving Las Vegas,” “Adaptation,” “Con Air” and the “National Treasure” franchise.
Based on the heaping list of his iconic films, Cage has great success in perhaps every endeavor or project he undertakes. But unbeknownst to many, he has also turned down many roles in the past to give way for his personal life.
In a 2022 interview with People Magazine, Cage revealed that in order to spend more time with his family, specifically his son, Preston, he had to say no to projects back then.
"First and foremost ... there's no version of Nick Cage in reality that doesn't want to spend time with his children. There's no version of Nick Cage that didn't put family first over career. I turned down Lord of the Rings and I turned down Matrix because I didn't want to go to New Zealand for three years or Australia for three years because I needed to be home with my son Weston, that's a fact,” he revealed.
Because of this, the role of Neo in “The Matrix” was handed down to Reeves, who did an excellent job playing the role. The two have even developed a friendship that many have come to like. Although they have not starred in a movie or a project together, many seemed to adore their friendship.

To promote his 2023 movie, “Renfield,” with Nicholas Hoult, Cage took to the Ask Me Anything Thread on Reddit, which lets anyone from the internet ask them questions, anything under the sun, provided it goes within the community guidelines of the platform.
One question, in particular, piqued the attention of Cage and Hoult, asking them what their favorite movie of Reeves is.
Hoult went for the popular ones – “John Wick” and “Speed.” But as for Cage, he had a quite unpopular choice and a hilarious anecdote.
“Well… Keanu kicked my a** at billiards one night,” he said. “He came up to my house on his motorcycle, and he was making these impossible shots. He said, ‘Now I dunno if I can get that shot or this shot,’ and he made every single shot.”
Because of this rather “embarrassing” encounter, Cage had “mixed emotions” about the skill that Reeves had after “completely” dominating him at billiards.
But as for his favorite movie of Reeves, he revealed that he liked the “early stuff” that the actor had been in – “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” and “River’s Edge” which he described Reeves to be “great” at.
Redditors flocked to the comment section and reacted to Cage’s answer.
“Somehow, we always knew that Keanu would be a bada** at billiards. Too many leather jackets not to be,” someone shared.
“I love the idea of Keanu Reeves going from actor’s house to actor’s house on his motorbike, kicking their a** at pool. One day he just shows up at your door and says, ‘it's time, are you ready?’” another said.
“I love this mental image I now have that Keanu moonlights as a celebrity pool shark,” one commented.
