Keanu Reeves, 56, Shows Off-Duty Style Complete With Unkempt Beard And Scruffy Outfit During Break From Filming 'John Wick 4' In Berlin

Actor Keanu Reeves, 56, is one of Hollywood's nicest guys. But on top of having a reputation for being kind, he's also a bonafide action star whose filmography includes "The Matrix" and "John Wick" franchises, among other notable movies. The Canadian actor is also the star of many popular memes, making him not just one of Hollywood's most beloved but also an icon of the internet.

Despite the global situation slowing down the filmmaking industry, Reeves has still been working. In the last year, the actor has been spotted in Berlin, Germany numerous times due to filming. Last summer, while filming "The Matrix 4," Reeves and his girlfriend, artist and philanthropist Alexandra Grant, were spotted in the city.

Over the Fourth of July weekend in 2020, Reeves and Grant were seen going to dinner with fellow "Matrix" members including Carrie-Anne Moss, in Berlin's trendy Kreuzberg neighborhood. The happy couple looked dapper and matching with Reeves in a black suit and button-up shirt, while Grant donned a sheer black polka-dot blouse and black pants.

Now, Reeves has found himself in the German capital once again, this time to film the fourth installment of the "John Wick" franchise. Captured arriving at the city's Babelsberg Studios last week, the actor showed off his off-duty style and although it's a bit scruffy, Reeves is still one of the hottest Hollywood heartthrobs around. Keeping in line with his relaxed, cool-guy image, he was seen wearing a leather jacket and big boots. And proving he really is the nicest guy in Hollywood, he even waved at onlookers as he arrived. 

The public usually only sees two sides of Keanu Reeves — the dapper, dressed-up actor on the red carpet or the slick action star in movies. But one side of the actor that we see less often is who he is behind the scenes. Stylish in his own relaxed way, Reeves is quite the style icon, and his demeanor when he's off-duty proves that he really is one of Hollywood's nicest guys. 

Having spent a lot of time filming the fourth installments of both "The Matrix" and "John Wick" franchises in Berlin, Germany in the last year, the actor is currently there once again. Photographed arriving at Babelsberg Studios, which is located in Potsdam-Babelsberg southwest of Berlin, last week, the actor showed off his stylish casual attire. Donning a black leather jacket and moss-green corduroy pants, Reeves accessorized with a black-and-grey beanie and brown leather boots. 

Reeves didn't shy away from waving to onlookers as he arrived, as he was holding what appeared to be his breakfast. Carrying a plastic container that looked to have oats inside, he also had a shake in his hand and even a spoon tucked inside his jacket pocket. The overall image was of a down-to-earth Hollywood actor who, despite looking a little scruffy, was just as stylish as always.

The latest installment in the John Wick franchise, work on the fourth movie began after the third iteration, "John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum," was released in May 2019. Filming for the fourth movie is expected to take place in Berlin, Paris, New York, and Tokyo.

The "John Wick" series centers around the titular character who is a retired hitman, who gets pulled back into the lifestyle when a gang breaks into his house and kills his dog, who was given to him by his wife who'd recently passed away. Pulling out all the stops, the movies are known for their blockbuster effects and impressive action scenes. So much so that director Chad Stahelski spoke to Collider in April 2020 about the pressures of one-upping the previous movies. He explained:

"I guess the third one just felt like I needed a place to go after number two, and I had these ideas. It kind of became that wacky action movie. There’s been a couple days where I’ve decided to do number four and I’ve woken up in a cold sweat going, ‘Horses! How do I beat horses?!’ Like, I have no f***in’ idea, to tell you the truth ... I think I have a lot of really cool ideas for the next one that I think are different and shocking and fun and unique."

He's also spoken of the fourth film not being the last in the franchise. He said in the same interview with Collider:

"We submitted an idea or thematic [plan] and it was really big. So, we're talking about doing a little bit more than a [John Wick 4], or something like that, and trying to develop that. We'll see how that goes."

Initially, the studio planned to film the fourth and fifth installments at the same time but that plan has been dropped, leaving the possibility of a fifth film up in the air.
