Kate Winslet's Sweet Interaction With A Young Reporter Captures Hearts And Goes Viral

Kate Winslet is one of the more well-known stars of today thanks to her iconic role as Rose on "Titanic." The late 90s flick is one of the top-grossing movies of all time and remains in the hearts of every romantic in the world. The movie put both Winslet and her co-star, Leonardo DiCaprio, on the map, and both stars were propelled into illustrious careers afterward. 

The actress has received many accolades throughout her career, including an Academy Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and even won a Grammy Award for narrating a children's audiobook. 

The actress has had a whirlwind career, as well as a tumultuous love life. She was first married to Jim Threapleton, who worked as assistant director on the set of the film "Hideous Kinky." Winslet fell for him, and they were married in 1998. Sadly, their love was not meant to be, and they divorced in 2001. Winslet's second marriage was to Sam Mendes, another director. They got married in 2003 and divorced in 2011. Winslet has been married to Edward Abel Smith since 2012. 

Despite her devastating marriages, Winslet has three beautiful children. Her eldest is Mia Honey, her only daughter, born in 2000, Joe in 2003, and her youngest, Bear Blaze, which she gave birth to in 2013. Winslet has shown incredible love for her children, always keeping in mind that parenting is her top priority.

Winslet trended on Jan. 9, 2023, as a video clip of her went viral, showing her adorable interaction with a junior reporter who was conducting her very first interview. While being asked about traveling and raising kids in a 2007 Good Housekeeping interview, Winslet said, "I've never left them to go do a film. No, we all go together. I could never leave them. My kids are my whole world." 

When asked about motherhood, the award-winning actress also revealed: "I love the routine. I love getting up in the morning and getting breakfast and packing lunches and doing the school run. Those things are really important to me. Because I think that those small but key moments are crucial for a kid."

On Jan. 8, 2023, logo! junior reporter Martha interviewed Winslet as part of her string of interviews to promote her movie “Avatar: The Way of Water.”

Their adorable interaction went viral on Twitter as people reacted to the heartwarming moment the two shared before the interview. 

Nervous about her first interview ever, Martha told Winslet that it was her first time. Winslet then responded, giving her a reassuring pep talk: 

"It's going to be the most amazing interview. And do you know why? – Because we've decided that it's going to be,” she promised the child.

Although Martha was not seen in the clip, she nodded and responded to everything Winslet said. 

"We've decided right now, me and you, that this is going to be a really fantastic interview,” she continued. "You can ask me anything you want, and you don't have to be scared. Everything's gonna be amazing. OK, you've got this."

Winslet’s sincerity and reassurance clearly boosted the young reporter’s morale. Aside from Winslet, Martha also interviewed “Avatar” director James Cameron afterward, now brimming with much more confidence and enthusiasm. 

Martha even sneaked in a selfie after her interview with Winslet, melting everyone’s hearts online. Bauer Media Senior Entertainment Reporter Liv Marks shared the clip online and has now amassed millions of views and thousands of comments – praising Winslet for her kindness toward the kid.
