Prince George is not like any other kid in the world — he is most certainly going to be the King of England one day, so he will be protected at all costs, but nothing could shelter the young prince from England's devastating loss in the Euro 2020 final game on July 11, 2021. As the game went into overtime and left fans around the world at the edge of their seat once it progressed into penalty shots, it was clear that one side would be devastated by the loss after such a fast-paced and exciting match. As England came to terms with their loss, George too was one of the people in the stadium who was deeply affected by the loss.

However, there were some exciting events throughout the match as well, such as England scoring their first goal early on. When this happened, George took the chance to embrace his mom and dad out of sheer joy, and fans loved seeing the rare public display of affection between the royals.

George attended the England vs. Italy match at Wembley Stadium in London with Prince William and Kate Middleton. This was his second time attending a Euro 2020 match with his parents — his first public match with his parents had ended far more happily after England defeated Germany and went ahead into the semi-finals on June 29, 2021. The sweet moment between George and his parents was caught on camera, as was his unfettered delight at the prospect of a potential win, and it showed that Geroge is just like any other kid when it comes to soccer.

News.com.au reported that royal fans have gone wild for Prince George's reaction when it came to England's early goal during the England vs. Italy game. England's first goal was scored by Luke Shaw in the first two minutes, which was a dream start and raised hopes of English fans across the world and warranted some celebration. In the stands, George joined in and showed that he is just a regular kid as he joyfully jumped up and down. George reportedly begged Kate and William to let him attend the match, and it seemed quite worth it as England's chances of a win kept strong even up until the end.

George wore a fitted suit that matched his father's, which he had done previously when he attended the England vs. Germany match that saw England progress onto the semi-finals. After this, George was labeled as England's "lucky charm" according to the news outlet. The Euro 2020 final gave England the opportunity to fight for the cup, which they have not won since 1966. Naturally, the devastating loss was deep for all English fans in the stadium, and George could not hide his distress either at the end of the nail-biting game.

However, the sweet moment where George hugged his parents in glee has already captured hearts across the world. After watching the video, one fan commented, "One of the sweetest royal moments ever! It's not surprising that the babies are such cuddle monsters. With W&K as their parents, the little ones will grow up just as affectionate. They've already inherited their parents' love of sports."

Sports are certainly important for the family, and both Kate and William have imbibed a love for sports in their children. Most recently, the day before William's 39th birthday was Father's Day in the U.K., and William spent the day with his two eldest kids as they all kicked off a half marathon event that took place on the queen's Sandringham Estate in Sandringham, Norfolk. Addressing runners before the half marathon took place, William even got George and Princess Charlotte involved when he held the microphone down to them as they counted down the start of the race altogether.

George has also reportedly inherited a deep love for soccer. Marie Claire reported that William said that his first-born son constantly listens to the Three Lions football anthem, and added, "I thought it would fade away but it hasn't. He still plays it every day." Geoge's love for soccer, as well as his home team, is quite strong, and Daily Mail reported that his soccer jersey is one of the young prince's favorite items of clothing.

George also chose to have his sixth as well as his seventh birthday party soccer-themed, and that he even played in the local football team while attending school. Royal commentator Katie Nicholl said about George's soccer skills, "George is football crazy and actually a very good player. During term time he plays for a local team and Will and Kate are often there to cheer him on."

While it is heartbreaking that George's favorite team lost such an important game, we are sure that his love for soccer will continue to grow and be nurtured as he gets older.
