Kate Middleton And Prince William's Potential Summer Holiday Plans With George, Charlotte And Louis

Jul 16, 2021 by apost team

The Cambridge couple of Prince William and Kate Middleton are known for their family values, and summer vacation is no exception. After recently taking Prince George to watch the Euro competition final at Wembley Stadium against Italy, the Cambridges are now planning their summer holiday. Every summer, the royal Cambridge family takes a break from their royal outings and public appearances to spend some quality family time with their three children: Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3. In the past, the Cambridges have enjoyed vacations in various places across the globe. For Prince George's sixth birthday, they traveled to Mustique in the Caribbean islands. Kate and William also traveled as a couple before their marriage to Ibiza.

Most recently, Prince William accompanied his grandmother, the queen, on her annual royal visit to Scotland, as her late husband, Prince Philip, is no longer able to join her on her royal tours. After being escorted by Prince William, Princess Anne took over to accompany the queen for the latter half of the tour that took place earlier this month.

Aside from royal tours, there are many destinations that the royals enjoy around the world, even in their private life. Now that travel restrictions are being lifted, it is possible that they will travel outside of England this summer. Looking back at the family's previous vacations, as well as other popular royal vacation destinations, we can get an idea of where they might travel this summer.

Read on to learn more about the Cambridge's potential summer holiday plans and which places are plausible to be their vacation destination this year.

Balearic Islands

According to Cosmopolitan, Prince William and Kate Middleton visited Ibiza back in 2006, when William was even going through a DJ phase. According to Kate Middleton's uncle, Gary Goldsmith, the two had a very fun time. Goldsmith said:

"They've [William and Kate] had the full Ibiza experience and they've had a really good time. My friend was there who was helping them set up the outdoor DJ and he was teaching William about the beats and how to drop a track."

William even had his on go-to catch phrase while djing, according to Goldsmith:

"He said the most important thing is to have a shoutout, something to say when you drop a really good track. Apparently William's go-to was 'The King is in the house!' which I kind of love."

Although the Balearic Islands of Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca, and Menorca are currently on the green watchlist for the UK, they will move to amber starting July 19, 2021.

Mustique

According to Vogue, back in 2019, Kate and William took a vacation to Mustique in the Caribbean to celebrate Prince George's sixth birthday. The magazine also reported that part of Mustique's allure is that the country can enforce a no-fly zone, which enables the Cambridges to have more privacy away from the paparazzi. The island's white sand and turquoise beaches offer a serene scene for a relaxing vacation. The Cambridges are not the only royals to visit the island. As a wedding present, Princess Margaret was gifted 10 acres of land there, and she even built a villa that is available to rent.

Malta

The whole royal family has had a particular relationship with Malta since the queen, and the late Duke of Edinburgh lived there from 1949 to 1951 while Prince Philip was on military duty.

According to Vanity Fair, Duchess Kate was supposed to take a solo trip back in 2014 but was advised to cancel the trip by doctors due to the sickness she was experiencing while pregnant with Prince George. Instead, Prince William went in her place. It's possible that the two will now try to make a family trip to Malta this summer.

Gibraltar

Although Prince William and Kate Middleton have never been to Gibraltar to our knowledge, Prince Charles and Princess Diana did spend their honeymoon there in 1981. Perhaps the Cambridge family will take a trip, as it's been on the green list for travel since May.

Croatia and Bulgaria

According to Balkan Insight, Prince Charles and Camilla took a royal tour to Croatia and Bulgaria back in 2016. Although there has been no royal tour there done by the Cambridges, both destinations will be given the green light this summer, opening it up as a potential vacation spot.

Staycation At Balmoral Castle

Instead of traveling, the Cambridges could opt for a staycation and just remain in the UK this summer. The queen annually takes a vacation to the Balmoral Castle in Scotland, and her relatives, the Cambridges included, are expected to visit her. Prince William even accompanied the queen on her recent royal trip to Scotland at the beginning of the month.
