Judge Judy Closes Court Case In Under 30 Seconds After Man Blurts Out Stupidest Thing

You have heard people say, "I plead the fifth," when they want to avoid admitting something they have said or they have done, right? The Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution reads, "No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury..."

In other words, when you plead the fifth, you are invoking your right to keep quiet. And sometimes, pleading the fifth is the best option available. For one man on Judge Judy, however, he didn't use this right when he probably should have.

When Ginny Paradeza found herself on in Judge Judy’s courtroom, surely she thought her case would be quick, but she couldn’t have imagined just how quick it would be. The case was rather simple: Ginny Paradeza accused the defendant of stealing her purse.

As the plaintiff begins to list the personal belongings that were in her bag prior to the alleged theft, the defendant becomes a little obstinate.

Once Ms. Paradeza states that an earpiece was in her purse at the time that it was stolen, the defendant completely blows any chance he had of walking away by not invoking his right to the Fifth Amendment.

The man refutes Ginny Paradeza’s claims by saying, “there was not an earpiece there, ma’am.”

By saying that, however, he effectively incriminates himself by admitting that he knew exactly what was in the purse, thus proving that he did, in fact, steal her bag and went through its contents.

In what was probably a very easy, albeit baffling day for Judge Judy, justice was served once again - this time in a manner quicker than anticipated.
