Heartbroken parents Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth were crushed when they discovered their baby daughter no longer had a heartbeat at a 20-week ultrasound. The couple has recently shared photos on their joint Instagram account to open up about the tragic experience.
“Today marks one week since we heard these words…'So this is your baby’s heart (pointing to the ultrasound screen). I don’t hear a heartbeat or see any movement,'" the young parents wrote on their Instagram. They shared a black and white photo of themselves with their heads down leaning together. “Although we don’t understand why, God has given us unexplainable peace and comfort during this very difficult time. Yes, it still hurts and we have cried countless tears, but we know that we can trust the Lord,” they continued.

Joy-Anna and Austin share a 1-year-old son named Gideon. 10 weeks ago the couple had announced they were pregnant with baby number 2 saying how Gideon was going to be such a great big brother. But sadly at Joy-Anna’s 20-week ultrasound they found out the unimaginable news. The discovery is especially hard on the couple as Joy-Anna’s four other sisters are all expecting too.
“We only had her for 20 weeks, Life is fragile and precious. So thankful the Lord gave her to us for that short time! She will be in our hearts forever!” the couple wrote. They also shared a picture of themselves looking down at their stillborn baby wrapped in cloth. They revealed on their page they were going to name her Annabell Elise which they said means “God has favored me”, and Elise means “God satisfies.”
They additionally wrote, “What a precious thing to know that when our daughter opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the face of Jesus.”
Our heartflet condolences go out to Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth during this time.
