Jon Bon Jovi Will Not Perform At His Son Jacob Bongiovi’s Wedding For A Heartwarming Reason

Jon Bon Jovi is a certified rock star. He is best known as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist for the rock band Bon Jovi, which was formed in 1983. Since then, he has released 15 studio albums with his band and some music as a solo artist.
Jon’s love life is yet another reason to adore this star. During a stop in Los Angeles on the Bon Jovi ‘The New Jersey Syndicate’ Tour in 1989, Jon secretly skirted away to Las Vegas with his high school sweetheart Dorothea Hurley. There, the two eloped and haven’t looked back since.
The pair married at the hands of an Elvis impersonator at the Graceland Wedding Chapel, and the couple is still going strong and more in love than ever 32 years later. “We make it work,” Dorothea told PEOPLE.
However, not everyone was as thrilled. Getting married made fans feel less connected to him as the desirable musician was suddenly completely unavailable. “When I came back from Vegas, my manager was furious,” Jon said. “He was like, ‘America’s boy is now married… that’s not a good career move.’”
The couple’s love bore fruit as they had four lovely children named Jesse Bongiovi, Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, Romeo Jon Bongiovi, and Jacob Hurley Bongiovi.
Jon is a firm believer in love and marriage at any age, as proven by his solid support for his son Jacob’s engagement to actress Millie Bobby Brown.
Since Jacob’s father is a legendary musician, many would assume that Jon would perform at his son’s wedding, but it appears that it will not happen, as explained by Millie.

Before we dive into the reason why Jon Bon Jovi won’t perform at his son Jacob Hurley Bongiovi’s wedding with Millie Bobby Brown, let’s take a look at the couple’s relationship history.
The pair first sparked relationship rumors when they were spotted locking hands with each other during a romantic stroll in New York City in June 2021. At the time, Jacob was often referred to as her best friend, as they would constantly share photos of one another on their social media accounts.
Months later, Cosmopolitan noted that the pair made it official when Millie shared a photo of herself with Jacob on a Ferris wheel, and both of them appeared to be happy with each other’s company as Jon’s son leaned in for a kiss.
Since then, the pair have been inseparable as they would go out on different dates and even spent the holidays together.
Then, finally, in April 2023, the pair shared sweet photos of them together by the beach, and many noticed that Millie had an engagement ring on her finger, which hinted that they would tie the knot soon.
Months later, the “Stranger Things” actress spoke with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on “Today with Hoda and Jenna” to promote her novel “Nineteen Steps” while she also gave fans an insight into her wedding preparations.
In the middle of their conversation, Millie was asked if Jon would perform at her wedding, to which she confirmed that he wouldn’t.
“I feel like that’s asking me to go and like, do a full on play for everyone,” the actress answered.
She further explained that one of the main reasons why the Bon Jovi frontman won’t sing was because she thought he needed a break as he was always busy.

“I think the man needs a break, he doesn’t stop. He’s always doing tennis or singing lessons. I think he needs a break, maybe it’s a three hour break,” she added.
Jenna then suggested that Jon should just be the “father of the groom” on the day of the nuptials, but Millie was hesitant as she didn’t know if her future father-in-law would “be able to do just that.”
Millie was not alone in preparing for her wedding, as her future husband was always there to help her.
One of the hosts said planning a wedding ceremony could both be beautiful and stressful at the same time, but the actress seemed to have enjoyed it.
“It has not been stressful at all for me… Jake is very involved, he’s very helpful during the whole process, I’ve never felt alone in it which I think is nice,” she added.
Since Millie was only 19 years old when she got engaged, the hosts asked her if she was still able to allow herself to “be a kid” at all.
The actress explained that she’s not the type of person who would always go out and mingle with other people, but rather she’s a “homebody” who likes to stay at home and cozy up with her fiancé at the time as well as her family.
Although some people would find her habits “boring,” as she said it, Millie noted that chopping vegetables and taking them out to her ponies was the best part of her day.
