Johnny Depp is arguably one of Hollywood's biggest stars. According to TheMovieWeb, the actor is most known for his roles in "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl," "Edward Scissorhands" and "Ed Wood." In 2021, Insider created a list ranking 25 of the highest-paid movie roles of all time. Depp made a list twice, at spots no.6 and no.10, for his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in "The Pirates of the Caribbean" and The Mad Hatter in "Alice in Wonderland." For his participation in the fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Depp was paid $55 million. For his role of the Mad Hatter in "Alice in Wonderland," the actor received 50 million pounds which is equivalent to $68 million. In 2012, the Golden Globe-winning actor received the Guinness World Record for being the world's highest-paid actor that year. According to TheRichest, the Hollywood icon is worth $200 million.

During his decades in the spotlight, Depp transformed from a Hollywood teen heartthrob to a well-respected, talented, award-winning actor right in front of our eyes. Accompanying his rise into fame is a slew of high-profile ex-girlfriends, ex-fiances, and ex-wives. Although many of their relationships ended years ago, many of Depp's former lovers still hold the "Black Mass" actor in high regard. From his first wife, Lori Anne Allison, to the mother of his two children, Vanessa Paradis, here's a look at some of Johnny Depp's most memorable relationships and what these women think about him.

Johnny Depp would've never begun acting if it wasn't for his first wife, Lori Anne Allison.

According to SportsKeeda, Johnny Depp and Lori Anne Allison wed in 1983. Although their marriage only lasted two years, Lori introduced Depp to Nicolas Cage, who convinced him to purpose acting. This connection led to Depp receiving a role in the 1984 horror classic "A Nightmare on Elm Street," which kick-started his career.

Although their marriage ended, Lori considers Depp her "first love." The makeup artist reminisced about her and Depp's relationship in a post shared on Instagram.

Shortly after divorcing Lori, Depp began dating Sherrilyn Fern. At the time, Fern was 19, and Depp was 21. In an interview with The Bigger Issue, Fern recalled her relationship with Depp.

"He was very sweet. He was my first love," she said.

After two years of dating, the couple split, and the "Dark Shadows" actor entered a whirlwind romance with  Jennifer Grey. Grey recently ended her relationship with her fiancé Matthew Broderick before dating Depp. In an interview with Drew Barrymore, Grey revealed that she was engaged to Depp and Broderick within the same month.

"It was really a sign that there was trouble afoot on my part," Grey said. "I just thought it was God rescuing me from one bad situation and just lovingly plopping me into a Johnny Depp souffle."

Depp's engagement to Grey lasted nine months, according to her memoir "Out of the Corner." The same year, Depp met Winona Ryder. The couple fell madly in love. In an interview with People, Depp expressed his passionate feelings for Ryder.

"There's been nothing in my 27 years that's comparable to the feeling I have with Winona," Depp said.

Although the couple ended three years later, Ryder still considers Depp a good man.

"I truly and honestly only know him as a really good man – an incredibly loving, extremely caring guy who was so very protective of me and the people that he loves," she said, per Deadline. "And I felt so very, very safe with him."

Depp began dating supermodel Kate Moss in 1994, after being introduced by Vanity Fair Columnist George Wayne. George Wayne recalled introducing the former It couple in an Instagram post.

"I had no idea that they would then become the IT couple for seasons to come ....destroying hotel rooms across the globe during their still unforgettable union!" He wrote

The couple broke up in 1998, a breakup that Depp takes full responsibility for.

"I was difficult to get on with, I let my work get in the way," Depp told HELLO! "And I didn't give her the attention I should have done."

Although years have passed since their relationship ended, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Moss recalled how secure Depp made her feel.

"There's nobody that's ever really been able to take care of me," she said. "Johnny did for a bit. I believed what he said. Like if I said, 'What do I do?' he'd tell me. And that's what I missed when I left. I really lost that gauge of somebody I could trust."

The following year, Depp met Vanesa Paradis. Unlike any of his previous romances, Paradis and Depp's relationship lasted 14 years, and the couple welcomed two children together, Lilly-Rose Depp and Jack Depp

Although their relationship ended in 2012, Paradis still views Depp as a "kind, attentive, generous and non-violent person and father."
