John Travolta Called ‘Incredible Father’ By Daughter Ella Bleu In Heartwarming Post

John Travolta is one of Hollywood's biggest names thanks to his 50-year acting career. He shot to fame in the disco classic "Saturday Night Fever" before he cemented his reputation as heartthrob Danny Zuko in the musical "Grease." While his career suffered a little in the '80s, he came back with a vengeance by the end of the decade and in the '90s, he was even nominated for an Oscar for his comeback role in Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction."

But in the last few years, the actor has dealt with hardship in his personal life, after Kelly Preston, his wife of nearly 30 years, died of breast cancer in July 2020. Since then, he's been raising his two children, Ella Bleu Travolta, 22, and Benjamin Travolta, 12, on his own. Despite the tragedy the family has endured, John, Ella and Benjamin all appear very close, particularly father and daughter. 

After he took some time to mourn his late wife, John came back to social media and on there, he has honored Preston frequently. He's posted photos of his late wife, shared a dance with his daughter in her honor and shared many updates on how he and his kids were doing following the death of their matriarch, particularly around the holidays. 

Likewise, Ella has also shared meaningful moments from the family's life. That includes special messages for her beloved father in honor of his birthday. For his 69th birthday on Feb. 18, 2023, the doting daughter posted a photo of her and her dad, alongside a touching caption.

Following Preston's death, John shared a post in her honor, as he detailed her two-year “courageous fight” against breast cancer, which she kept away from the public. At the time, he said that he'd be taking time off to be there for Ella and Ben as they all mourned Preston's passing:

"I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. All my love, JT"

While the family had the support of the public and other celebrities, it was only natural that they would want to grieve in private. However, as they've each opened up a little more through their Instagram posts in the two years since her death, it's been wonderful to see the Travoltas move on from their loss while keeping Preston's spirit alive.

In August 2020, John shared a video of him and Ella dancing in honor of Preston. He explained why they were dancing in the video: "My daughter @ella.travolta and I dancing in memory of momma. One of Kelly’s favorite things, dancing with me." 

John and Ella's close relationship has been on full display on both of their social media accounts. They even appeared in a Super Bowl commercial together in February 2021.

Ella appears to be a lovely young woman who embodies the charisma that both of her parents were known to have, and it's a pleasure to see her grow up and mature. She's even following in her famous parents' footsteps and is embarking on an acting career, as well as releasing music.

Considering her stunning looks — which come from both of her parents — it's no surprise Ella wants to work in show business. Speaking with People in 2019, the budding actress stated:

"Since I was very little, I’ve loved performing, singing, dancing, and putting on shows at home for my family and friends."

She already made her acting debut all the way back in 2009 in the movie "Old Dogs," which also starred both of her parents, as well as Robin Williams. Ella spoke to Celebrity Pulse about her start in Hollywood. "It was awesome to act with my parents in my first movie, it made it a lot easier," she said.

Since then, she's starred with John once more, in the movie "The Poison Rose," while her most recent movie "Get Lost" is still upcoming. For now, it's uncertain what other movie projects Ella has coming up but there's no doubt John will be supporting her every step of the way. 

Considering their close bond, it's no surprise then that Ella made a special post on Instagram for her father's 69th birthday in February 2023. Alongside a sweet photo of the daughter embracing her father, Ella wrote:

"Yesterday marked the birthday of my hero. The most incredible father, friend and role model anyone could ask for. I love you, Daddy❤️❤️❤️"

John commented on the post:

"I love you to my dearest Ella. More than you know. ❤️"

A few celebrity friends commented on the touching tribute, including Jeremy Renner, who wrote "So sweet" alongside heart emojis. Meanwhile, William Baldwin said, "Happy B-Day John!!!"
