“Full House” was a highly loved American sitcom that was on television from 1987 to 1995. Over the course of the series, fans were able to watch the characters – and many of the stars who played them – grow up. The show followed widowed father Danny Tanner, played by the late Bob Saget, seeking help from his brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis and Joey Gladstone, played by John Stamos and Dave Coulier, respectively.

Together, they raised Danny’s three daughters: D.J., Stephanie and Michelle Tanner. While Candace Cameron Bure took on the role of the eldest daughter, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen teamed up to play Michelle together, and Jodie Sweetin played the role of Stephanie.  Another notable star from the show was Lori Loughlin, who played Uncle Jesse’s wife Becky.

The series was a massive success and helped show families ways to cope with grief, learn from their mistakes and find new and fun ways to bond together.

The original sitcom aired from September 1987 to May 1995, broadcasting a total of 192 episodes. Although the series didn’t receive a ton of critical praise during its time, it became a popular and nostalgic childhood favorite for fans today. It was such a success that it even launched a sequel series more than 20 years later called “Fuller House,” with the majority of the main cast members returning. The sequel series ended in 2020.

The show also helped launch the careers of many of its stars, especially its child stars. The show was instrumental in catapulting the Olsen twins into stardom and also helped lay the groundwork for future careers for Cameron Bure and, of course, for Sweetin.

Although Sweetin faced personal and professional struggles early in her career, she has overcome them and is now a doting mother to two beautiful lookalike daughters!

Sweetin was born on Jan. 19, 1982, in Los Angeles, California. She was adopted and raised by her uncle and his second wife. When she was still extremely young, Sweetin began appearing in several television commercials and was cast in a guest role in the 1987 sitcom “Valerie.” Shortly afterward, she was cast as Stephanie Tanner on “Full House.”

However, after the show ended its run in 1995 when Sweetin was only 13 years old, she encountered several hardships. This included three failed marriages and substance abuse issues. According to E! News, she was out of work for many years following her time on the sitcom, aside from a few jobs here and there, and the actress fell into a downward spiral, resulting in her going in and out of rehab many times. Fortunately, she has found a path to sobriety and is now an advocate for recovery.

In 2020, she said that sobriety has given her “a lot of gratitude,” according to People. She continued:

“I speak about my experience growing up in the entertainment business, what my life was like after, some of the struggles and things I went through and where my life is today. It’s a story with a message of second chances and turning things around and being able to overcome some adversity.”

Sweetin also became a mother in 2008 with the birth of her first child, Zoie Herpin, who she shares with her second husband, Cody Herpin, followed by her second daughter, Beatrix Coyle, in 2010, whom she had with her third husband, Morty Coyle.

Although Sweetin divorced both her daughters’ fathers and married her fourth husband, Mescal Wasilewski, in 2022, she remains a proud and loving mom who loves to praise her children and celebrate their milestones.

In 2021, Sweetin shared with People how proud she was of the way her daughters had come into their own.

“My girls have good boundaries; they stand up for themselves and speak their minds. Particularly my older one, she has always been that kid that would say, ‘I don’t like that.’ Not necessarily in a bratty way, but like, ‘Nope, I’m not doing this.’ I didn't get those skills until I was in my 30s. I’m just so proud of how they stand up for themselves and say, ‘This is who I am, and this is what I like.’ My daughters have very firm boundaries, and they are so wonderfully expressive in who they are. I give them the freedom to be that,” Sweetin said.

On April 12, 2023, the proud momma took to Instagram to post a loving tribute to Zoie on her 15th birthday. Alongside photos that showed just how similar the mother-daughter pair looked, she wrote:

“15!!! How is my Zoie 15 today?! Zo, you have grown into such an INCREDIBLE young person, I am beyond proud of you. Your heart, your hard work, your sense of humor… you are such a bright light in so many ways.”

She followed up a few days later with a post showing how she, Zoie and her friends had celebrated the big day, with Sweetin looking more like Zoie’s older sister than mother. The caption read:

“To cap off Zo’s bday festivities, I told her I would take her and her friends out to @noburestaurants and I also took the ladies to pick out something at @aweinspired jewelry (and I may have gotten in on that too…) A fabulous girls evening! (I can feel them rolling their eyes at this post already) 🤷‍♀️ Moms gonna mom.”
