Joan Collins Bumps Into Naomi Campbell And The ‘Two English Roses’ Take A Selfie

Joan Collins is a star in every essence of the word. Born on May 23, 1933, she was raised in London, England. She has been a notable actress for several decades and is also recognized for her talents as a writer, both as a columnist and as an author.

Collins attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts during her teenage years before going on to land several roles in the 1950s. She went on to appear in many films and television shows as her career picked up, such as "The Road to Hong Kong" in 1962, "These Old Broads" in 2001, and more recently in "American Horror Story: Apocalypse" in 2018. 

Collins' most notable role was portraying the character Alexis Colby in the soap opera "Dynasty" from 1981 until 1989, which earned her plenty of praise and recognition. Throughout her career, she also amassed several awards, including the East Europe International Film Festival for Best Lead Actress in 2020, The Golden Apple Awards as Female Star of the Year in 1982, and more.

It's no surprise that she has received plenty of awards and accolades over the course of her lifetime, with a career spanning from the 1950s until the present day. She was even made a Dame by Queen Elizabeth II in 2015 for her charitable services.

Before we dive into the details of the unexpected picture, let's take a look at the model's life and career. Born Naomi Elaine Campbell on May 22, 1970, the famed model, who worked with some of the biggest luxury brands in the world, spent her early days in Rome, Italy, where her mom worked as a dancer.

Her mother was Valerie Morris. On the other hand, her father remained unnamed even on her birth certificate, as he abandoned her mom when she was only four months pregnant.

She later moved back to London to live with her relatives while her mother traveled across the continent for her job.

Campbell had been working in the industry since she was a little girl as her first public appearance was in Bob Marley's music video for the track "Is This Love." 

Her modeling career began when she studied at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. At the time, Beth Boldt, the head of the Synchro Model Agency, discovered her in London. She later appeared on the cover of British Elle.

The model's career didn't stop there as she later worked with the biggest designers in the fashion world as a runway model. Some of the people she collaborated with were Gianni Versace, Isaac Mizrahi, Azzedine Alaïa, and many more.

Since Campbell was known as one of the biggest models in the fashion industry, the Council of Fashion Designers of America awarded her the Fashion Icon Award in 2018.

On Joan Collins' official Instagram page, she shared a photo of herself with Naomi Campbell, which was praised by her followers.

The actress looked dazzling and glamorous in a simple white dress, a silver necklace, and a pair of statement earrings. Her look was completed with her signature red lipstick.

On the other hand, Campbell wore an intricately-designed beaded dress and her signature long black hair.

In the caption, the Dame wrote, "Look who I just bumped into! #summertime #glamorous."

Fans took to the comment section to express their adoration for the two women, as one wrote, "Two beautiful ladies , definitely doing it for the girls . Love it."

"Icons, gorgeous, glamorous and inspirational," another one wrote, while one user observed the necklace that the actress wore, as they commented, "Love your necklace Joan, it's very romantic to have your and Percy's initials intertwined. You look stunning as always , as does Naomi."

Other commenters seemed to have not recognized Campbell, as many of them asked who the woman beside the actress was.

One user defended the supermodel as they wrote, "Who are you people who don't recognise one of the original Supermodels?? Two English roses looking gorgeous."

This was not the first time Collins and Campbell met each other, as they also attended the opening of Schiaparelli at Harrods in March 2023, as reported by Good Housekeeping.

At the time, the model wore a blue dress that appeared to be made out of velvet, while Collins wore a chic Hollywood-inspired black dress with matching black gloves, white wrap, and a necklace made from giant pearls.
